my dress is a little to small

So I had a mermaid dress made. I love it and its exactly what I wanted, except its a little to tight in the booty area. It zips all the way up but because its to tight in booty, it makes the matieral in the tummy area puckered. Can a seamstress fix this or am I just screwed?

Re: my dress is a little to small

  • How long until your wedding?  Any chance of losing maybe 5 pounds?   Have you tried using body-shapers?

It's possible that a seamstress could let the seams out a little bit, but depending on the fabric and any detail like beading, it could get expensive.  A seamstress will be able to tell you what can and can't be done, and how much it will cost.

  • Take it to a seamstress. She can give you good advice about whether it's worth it to take the dress out a bit or rely on body shapers.
  • If you had it made how did it end up too small? If who ever made it for did so incorrectly they should have to pay for it to be fixed.
