Tiara help needed

I am a 42 year old first time bride.  The wedding is formal and traditional with a European flare to it.  I want to wear some really nice jewelry with my gown.  However, I am concerned that at my age, that to wear a tiara might be a little young for me.  Any advice?

Re: Tiara help needed

  • Welcome Amchenry. I think you can find a tiara-like headband vs a tiara and feel very comfortable at any age.

I found mine at www.rhinestonejewelry.com. Look at the links on the left for headbands or tiaras. The bad news is you have to often buy multiples. The good news is that they are so inexpensive that the multiples cost less than just one thing from anywhere else. I sold one of the headbands to another knottie at a get together, and used 2 to make a cuff bracelet.

    Good luck.
  • You can wear whatever you want to wear and if that is a tiara, go for it!

We are in the same situation and almost the same age.  :)

I am wearing a Bonny Bliss gown with pearl necklace and earings and I am going with a headband with a fingertip veil attached on the back that can be removed for the reception.  I saw a couple of headbands that I like that come with crystals and pearls so I think I will find something that will work for me.  My bridal consultant wants me to wait until my dress comes in before we make the final choices.

Just do what feels right to you and remember that there are a lot of choices out there for jewelry and tiaras.  Hope that helps.
  • If being above a certain age means you can't wear a tiara, someone needs to talk to the Queen of England!  Seriously, whether you wear a tiara or not depends on your hairstyle, face shape, gown, formality of the wedding, and personal taste, not your age.  I was a little worried about this, too (I'm 41), until I put my hair up and tried some on.  Go for it!!
