David's Bridal T9397 Bustle Help

I have the T9397 dress from David's Bridal, and it's supposed to have a side bustle.  My alteration lady is suggesting a side bustle that looks different from what I remember the David's Bridal alteration people showing me 6 months ago when I bought my dress.  I've already started the alteration process with an independent seamstress, so I can't go to David's Bridal instead.  And I'm confident in her abilities--I've had her do 2 of my bridesmaid dresses for past friend weddings.  I just was hoping I could find a picture to show her of what the side bustle is supposed to look like.  Has anyone worn this dress and do you have a picture of it with the bustle?  Or can anyone explain how a side bustle would happen so it doesn't poof out a whole lot and just hangs mostly straight down.  I'd be ever so grateful for your help/advice!!!!  Thank you!  :)

Re: David's Bridal T9397 Bustle Help

  • There is no one way to bustle a dress. Trust that your seamstress knows what she's doing.
  • Thanks for your input, everyone.  I did look at the David's Bridal reviews before, but I didn't see any pictures with the dress bustled.  I guess I was just hoping for an easy explanation of how it might work or pictures that could be simple for my seamstress to copy.  I'll probably just go with what she wants to do...she's about 70, though, so I wasn't sure if her idea would be the same as what's current.  No worries--my bustle isn't the focus of the day--I can get over it!
