Will the Black Tuxes Clash?

My wedding is in the fall. The reception venue is pretty much all browns, and my main wedding colors are red and dark purple. I am going to incorporate brown in minor accents since it matches the venue (some pine cones in the centerpiece and such), and I think it looks pretty with the red and purple. Will it look alright with the black tuxes? The vests/ties will be dark purple as will the bridesmaids dresses. I over think things way too much, and I am just wondering if other people think this will look alright. ha.

  • I think it will be fine.  My bridesmaids are wearing "latte" brown and the guys are in black tuxes and I think it looks just fine.  Puple and black go together nicely

  • My BM dresses are chocolate brown and the guys are in black tuxes. The photographer said he has done several weddings like this and the pictures always turn out fine. Don't stress about it.

  • My friend had colours that were soft pink and chocolate brown. The G and GM all wore black tuxes, and it looked awesome and the girls were in chocolate brown dresses... again, it looked awesome :)

    SarahAnn-
Any colors you choose will go with black! If you are only using it as an accent color- it will be fine with tuxes. Will the brown be incorporated with clothing? or more of a accent to your other projects? You could always do a lighter brown- like a taupe or dark beige!

  • The black will look totally fine.  As PPs have said, a black tux is akin to a uniform and will go with everything.

I do have to respectfully disagree with CMGr, the concept of a tux only being appropriate for evening wear is out-dated.  It's totally acceptable now to wear tuxes for a wedding at any time of day.  :)
