Friend doing hair/makeup...

My fiances brothers wife is a hair stylist and will be doing hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party (5 ppl total) with the help of a coworker of hers. How much should I offer to pay each of them? I was thinking $75 a piece? What do you think?

$75 seems nice and generous. I think $50 would be fair, IMO.

Can your FBIL find out the going rate for hair/makeup at their work?  I'd try to offer them whatever their hair salon would pay them plus tip, or a little more.

Anyway, I would find out the going rate that they'd usually charge and offer that. If they insist on less as a gift, fine. But I would not offer them any less than they'd usually get for these services, especially since I imagine they're making things convenient by coming to you.

If she didn't mention what she charges for whatever services you will be receiving, ask her what she charges. If she insists on it being a gift to you, then I would give her and her friend each a thank you card with a giftcard around $100, depending on what you can afford.

Wow! You ladies got your services for a steal. I'm totally jealous because I doubt that I'll be able to catch a break like that.

When I did wedding makeup in college, our rate was $400 for the bride/travel and $60 for each addtn. bridesmaid on site. That was just makeup, no hair. I'm trying to find someone that can do on site in Chicago now... I think the spa in our hotel charges $350 for hair and makeup!
