Tuxes

So I am wearing a "gold" (I think its closer to champagne) dress.  What do people recommend for the grooms tux to look like?

I have heard that if you wear an ivory dress that he should really wear an ivory shirt because in pictures your dress will look dirty.  But my dress is not ivory.   Do you have them wear a white shirt but a vest/tie matching the dress?
My dress is below:

I can't think of a single tux color that would clash with that--the exception perhaps being a white jacket. What does your FI want to wear?

Also, I have seen plenty of ivory dress-white shirt combos, and they never clash. Only a teeny little bit of shirt peeks out, and it will barely be noticeable that they're different shades, especially in photos.

    Pretty dress!

It's perfectly fine to have the guys wear white shirts. I don't care for most ivory shirts, and a huge dress will never look dingy next to a bit of white.

I personally did not like the ivory shirts.  To me, those looked dingy.  My dress is ivory and my FI is wearing a black tux with a white shirt and ivory tie and vest.  The store may have a deeper ivory color that is more of a champagne tone to match your dress.

I would go into the tux shop and have your FI try on a few different options.  (If you have a swatch of your dress, that may be helpful, although I didn't when we went and it was fine.)  It's much easier to see how they look on and in person.  If they don't have the right ivory/champagne color, you could always do a silver or charcoal tie and vest for the groom.
