I was told at David's bridal that almost all brides buy a shapewear corset to go under their dress, is that true? and does it have to be a simple bland white corset or can it be a fun, sexy suprise once the dress comes off? All opinions and answers accepted.

So no, you don't have to, but I got into my dress and wanted something underneath.
[QUOTE]DB tells you a lot of stuff. <strong>The saleslady told ME that my FI didn't BELONG there and he was out of place to come. So. Incredibly. Rude. </strong> They are just people, and salespeople at that. They want to up the sale. Just like a waitress will always pressure you to get dessert, bridal stores will pressure you to get all the little bells and whistles. I wore nothing under my gown. It didn't need it, but I did shop around and try on a crazy amount of different undergarment styles before finally deciding on nothing. Target, Nordys, Macys, etc all offer a ton of different brands. Don't let some random salesperson pressure you into something about which you're uncertain.

<div>Wow. That's insanely rude.</div><div>
</div><div>To echo PPs, it's really up to you. My dress has boning and I don't want extra crinoline under the skirt so I'm having cups sewn in and leaving it at that.</div>

</div><div>haha yeah. I was NOT happy. She kept telling me how she could kick him out whenever I gave her the go-ahead, and that we would never agree on a gown so I should just make him leave and just have my aunt/grandma help (they were there as well.)</div><div>
</div><div>H and I ended up finding my gown, just the two of us, elsewhere, but both teared up when I tried it on.. I think we did just fine "agree"ing on a gown in the end :P </div>

</div><div>That is really rude, but are you sure she wasn't just trying to joke around with you? My fiancee made it clear he does not want to hear or see anything about the dress until the day of the wedding. If she wasn't kidding then you should have complained to a higher up.</div>
