I was one of these too until my mom told me bugs will eat me if I don't shower, that convinved me that showers were my friend. I went from no showers to hour long showers. LOL

I think I'm going to be a really mean, tyranical bitch of a mother.  My kid isn't going to have a cell phone til he gets his driver's license.  When will that be?  His grades will determine that.

While we're confessing, I was a full on nudist as a kid.  I don't think that's very strange though.  Most kids hate wearing clothes.

I used to throw temper tantrums about getting dressed though.

Come to think of it I apparently threw lots of temper tantrums.  (where did all that courage go!?)

I was also exceptionally difficult to potty train.  I think I was three and a half til I got it right.  My mom used to use a dish towel to tie me in the potty chair.  I drank juice and ate m&ms in front of the tv until I went.  And sometimes I'd fall asleep before I did.

And, I didn't learn to tie my shoes til first grade.  I used to make other kids at school do it.

And I talked to myself a lot.

And now, after this trip down memory lane, you all must think I'm nutso, but I don't care, because I'm drinking.  So there.

Would it offend you if I said that sometimes I wish I was black?

    Because I totally do.

Where I grew up there was literally one black family in the whole town and they had three daughters, one was my age.  I always thought she was GORGEOUS.  And she could sing beautifully.

    That is hilarious.

My mom knew when I was done breast feeding.  She says one night before she put me to bed, she whipped out her boob, and I looked at it, then looked at her face and gave her a weird "wtf" look?

She was like... OKAY.  We're done.

Court - that is an adorable pic of your daughter :)

This cracked me up. I went through a phase where I wished I were black also. Actually it was a pretty long phase. My best friend growing up was black and she was awesome. I begged my mom to style my hair with those knocker ball things like she always had, but I didn't understand the different hair texture. My mom did use them in my ponytails though.
Then in highschool I was in love with Nelly.. so I pretended to be black. I dunno.

I think that could be true!

I had a girlfriend in college - whitest white girl on the planet but all she listened to was R&B, she was obsessed with black culture, and all the guys she dated were gorgeous black jocks.  And she married one too.  She said the same thing - "My parents think I'm a black woman trapped in a white body."

I think I have periodic black envy.  Like penis envy.  Only less weird.

Because race is apparently not off-limits in this thread, I have a confession.

I am terrified of my future children's hair.  I have insanely thick and curly hair.  FI is mixed, and his hair is really more of a wire texture.  I'm already concerned I won't know wtf to do with it.
