Re: Morning!

  • Hi! I'm here. Eating breakfast and waiting for stinkbutt to wake up. I stayed up way too late last night and now, I'm kind of pooped.

Today will be filled with laundry and staying away from the heat. I think I'm going to take Ben to the movies this afternoon.

  • I'm here! Doing a load of laundry while watching the second disc of How I Met Your Mother (love it.)  I'm debating between a little egg sandwich and cereal for breakfast (we DO have Fruit Loops.)

Also trying to avoid the heat and humidity for the day... I'm ready for fall, or even winter, at this point. I feel like my skin is just melting off of me.  I'm meeting up with a friend for lunch, then FI is coming home this afternoon!

future- I know you've mentioned it before, but you must work in retail?
  • Hi!  I'm here.  Today I'm hoping to get some work done and maybe venture to Macy's for some returns.

Steph - I just moved up here - have you lived here for awhile?

    Yeah, convenience store, :P
  • Can I use this thread to vent a random FB frustration? Why don't people edit their photos before they post them? I don't need to see 137 pictures of the bullshit you did last night. Especially if half of them are fucking sideways. Don't be a douche.
  • Cew- even my sister edited, and she's 17 and just got back from a two-week Europe trip.

Andy- yup! My family is all from here, but I was raised in central WI. I went to the U of M and stayed after I graduated.  Where in the Twin Cities are you?

Your sister is one smart 17 year old. I just don't get it. Do these people think we want to sift through all 379 photos of their trip to the beach? Yuck.

We live in the Mill Dist - I love it!   We just moved here in June from Chicago.  DH is doing a radiology residency at the U of M and I work at a law firm downtown.  I really love it here - I was totally worried that I'd hate it since I was in Chicago for 5 years.

  • Cew-I HATE that!  How hard is it to push the little rotate button when you upload them?
  • Cew- she somehow edited her 800+ pictures down to one album of 200.  Considering she was in 6 countries, I'll take 200 pictures :)

Andy- FI and I live in St Paul over by Como Park. I really am starting to love this area; it's very family/suburb feeling, but still right by both downtowns.  I love downtown, too, though! I lived in Uptown for a year after graduating; lots of fun bars and restaurants over there too.

I actually work at the U still, so I obviously also love campus.  I'm glad you like the Cities!  Have you been to a Twins game yet? Discovered any great food?

My friend lives over there I think.  No Twins games yet - but I can see them from my lobby at work - does that count?
I really like Spoonriver and Sea Change - which both happen to be in my neighborhood.  The cheap thai food here is amazing.  The sushi is not.
Are you getting married here?  When is your wedding?

  • Yeah. I'm fine with big trips like that being huge albums, but just different angles of your duckface in the club bathroom? Not so much.

<div>Best sushi ever- Wakame (click) down by Lake Calhoun.  They have really good happy hour deals, too. yum.</div><div>
</div><div>Yup! We're getting married at Profile Event Center on November 7th (less than 3 months now!) If you're ever looking for good ethnic food, head down Nicollet; it's called Eat Street for a reason. :)  I once heard there were over 100+ nationalities represented in just as many restaurants. </div>
  • Steph - thanks!  I'll totally check it out!
3 months - that's a fun time.   Invites go out soon right?

  • *sigh* yeah. I need to finish them.  They're mostly assembled- now I just need to address envelopes and buy all the stamps.

Cew- what about my fish face? Can I post 500 pictures of that?
  • Sure. As long as 278 of them are sideways.

  • So what movie are you taking Ben to see?
  • Cat's and Dogs. I'm kind of dreading it because I can't stand movies where animals talk. They are painful. But he's been dying to see it, so it will be worth it to hear him giggle.
  • Good Morning Y'all!

I guess I'm a slacker this morning since you ladies are already up. I need to clean my house today so I don't have to do it this week when I'm on vacation. Mainly the kitchen and the floors need doing, but those are my least favorite.

FI is still in bed and when grumpasaurus awakes he will complain that I didn't stay in there with him. Oh well. I just can't stay in bed when I am awake.

CEW, I hear you on the talking animals thing.

<div>Sounds like our household every morning.  Sorry, bud, I have things to do.  Plus, 6 am is the only time I can get into the laundry room at our apartment...</div><div>
</div><div>Do you have any fun plans for your week (?) of vacation?</div>
  • I plan to go to bootcamp twice a day, study for my Fraud Examiner license, maybe take the test, and watch Maury every day. That's why I want to clean today, so I don't have to interrupt my studying for cleaning ;)

  • I'm at work for the day. Exciting stuff.
  • Morning, ladies!

My big plans for today include grocery shopping, putting laundry away, meeting some friends at On The Border, and True Blood. Let's see how that goes. ;-P

Right below my $500 DOC I rank the $200 I spent for Kelly Place on etsy to address my invitations.  She's great.  Are you considering outsourcing that task?

  • Good morning, sunshines!

It's raining outside now, but it looks like it may clear.  Plans today include making out our weekly menu and shopping for it, running, and working on our wedding album (maybe by going in and using our work computers).  Glamorous!

<div>Nope. I have really good cursive (I've actually addressed friend's invites for them), so I'll just do it myself.  We only have about 100 invites, so it won't be too bad!  I'm just sick of looking at my invites at this point... they were completely DIY. I did all the cutting, gluing, printing, folding, blahblahblah.</div><div>
</div><div>Random note- we're having a MSP GTG in a few weekends (Sunday the 22nd), feel free to come if you want to meet some MSP brides!</div><div>
</div><div>ETA: gross, I use too many exclamation points!</div>
