Yes I should walk right into the fire. :-/ Eh I wasn't super idealistic about it like some people are.  Just met a dude who was poly and I figured it was better than my history of dating one guy and hooking up with another.  It was quite an interesting phase though.

Was it you plus another girl or him and another guy?   Is the poly aspect what caused it to end?  I won't flame you.  It ain't my cup of tea, but as long as everyone is an adult, I don't see a reason to judge.

He was straight but his other partner was bi.  No we broke up because my other relationship (not FI) seemed to be getting serious and I wanted to pursue that instead.  He was also so not right for me in several ways.

You mentioned that she was bi, so I assumed there was some active between you and her? Or is it just she and you took turns being with him? Did you live together?  Then you were dating some other guy too?  I'm confused as to what makes this poly v. just non-monogamous dating.

I find plural relationships fascinating. Mostly because I don't believe they truly work for people. I can't imagine being in one. I'm not a jealous or really high maintenance type in relationships, but I demand high levels of trust and loyalty, and expect to be prioritized. I just don't see how that can really happen in those plural situations.

No she pretty much didn't like me...which violates the whole poly principals but those aren't exactly written in stone.  They had third partners in the past that they shared but I wasn't one of them.  The difference was that we were all in committed relationships with trust and loyalty and all that good stuff...just with more than one person.  In certain circles A was my boyfriend and in some B was.  It could (and did) get confusing.

NQB, I am SO confused. so you were in a poly (one man w. the chick who didn't like you, and one man who you were also with) or he was a poly with you and the chick who didn't like you (which I canNOT imagine, btw), or you were BOTH in a poly but had trust and loyalty. dating multiple people has never been my particular cup o' tea but this sitch just seems . . . strange.

I don't get how this isn't dating 2 guys at the same time, who are also dating other people.  Then you got serious with one and ended it with the other.Jens--I find it fascinating too. I'd also suspect it doesn't work but I would have said that about open relationships until I knew someone for whom it works.
