confessions

I've started listening to classical music in the car to curb my road rage - part of it is the music calming me but I also like to think "WWJAD" (what would jane austen do lol) - I know for a fact she wouldn't rage out and give someone the finger so I'm trying to channel her a bit. You go now

Re: confessions

• That's an amazing confession, Nebb. I confess that I'm going to channel Nebb channeling Jane Austen on my way home from work.

• H does that too (the classical music thing, not Jane Austen) and it really helps him.

I confess that I have had no energy/motivation to do anything productive this week.  At work, at home, nothing.  I've spent more time laying on the sofa this week than I care to admit.
• I confess I'm already milking this whole pregnancy thing. I haven't cooked dinner yet this week.  I don't think H minds though, because he really likes cooking too.  And in my defense, the only time I don't feel well is from about 4-7pm.  oh well.

nebby- that's a fantastic confession.  I used to listen to piano music in the car too.  I loved it.

I confess that this made me chuckle. I already confessed that I pissed myself which is pretty damn embarrassing.

I also confess that part of me still wants this house even though I feel ambivalent about the yard. I love the house itself and really don't want to go through the whole process of finding another one because I know I am going to keep comparing them to this one.

• Nebbeh - I used to do that with Christmas music. I loved that there were three stations down here that played Christmas music exclusively during the holidays. Kinda bummed they don't do that now. I might have to switch to classical now.

My confession: after I got back from running this morning, I ate a handful of Blazin' Buffalo Ranch Doritos. Okay, it was more like two large handfuls. I work out so I can eat this crap! lol

• Steph- I missed the whole pregnancy thing! Congratulations!!

ha. Thanks :) I just posted it in the GM thread.
• STEPH!!!! Omg CONGRATULATIONS!!!
• I confess that I'd like to be a part time SAHW.  I don't think I could do it full time without going stir crazy, but I really could dig it a couple of days a week.  We'd never make it on just H's salary though.  I get irrationally irritated that I have to work full time and have such a hella commute.  Especially since H's commute is 15 minutes.

I feel the same way, but I sometimes don't do anything either. I've stopped mentioning it and just complaining inside my head.
• I listen to Christmas and Disney music in the car for that reason.

Denise, what is wrong with the yard? Is it bad enough that you can't clean it up without it costing a fortune? I missed this backstory.

I don't have any good confessions. I am in a lot more pain recently than I let anyone know, because I don't want to go to the doc. If I let H know, he'd make me. But every day is agonizing and it's starting to scare me, so chances are I'll be making an appointment soon.

I also confess that I've recently realized just how vain I am. I have some weird growth (mole? skin deformation? alien?) just under my eye and I can't figure out what it is. I was going to call the dermatologist but it started to get smaller so I'm waiting it out for now. In any case, it makes me despise looking in the mirror because it's all I see. H didn't even notice it until I pointed it out, now he asks if it's bigger or smaller and it makes me self-conscious.

H had off the whole week between Christmas and NY.  He didn't do anything around the house.  I finally said something. His response? "Well, if you wanted me to do stuff, you should've just asked!"  Riiiight, because I wait for you to ask before I clean or do laundry. grrr
• I confess I'm happy that DH is going to visit his children (they're at the same college) on Saturday while I'm at work.  I really don't care if I see them or not right now.  They feel the same way about me.  meh.

• Me too, BK.  I've wanted to be a SAHW/M since my daughters were little, and I resent the hell out of the 8 years that DH's exW got to be a SAHM.  I may be (not so) secretly hoping for a severance deal out of this impending corporate merger.
I confess I also get annoyed with H for not helping out more.  Even though he is in school and has homework, it feels like he has more free time than me.  Can he not at least do the dishes and take out the garbage?  I'll do laundry and apartment cleanup.  Just cook me some food and clean the kitchen.
Posted by edielaura
Yeah I totally use the "he has more free time" as an excuse. I have plenty of time to pick up my stupid clothes or unload the dishwasher but I tell myself I work longer hours than him, I shouldn't have to do the cleaning until I'm good and ready. Admittedly, he's much better at picking up around the house.

• Mehg - I was talking to my mom last night about sodium (she said I should reduce my intake to help with the inflammation in my hands) while eating Blazin Buffalo & Ranch Doritos. Then I looked at the sodium amount and serving size, and yeah. I am apparently a very unhealthy chip eater. Somehow I have to find the strength to not eat so many at once (a serving size is 12! Who can eat less than 12 in one sitting? Not this girl).
• I don't think my DH knows how to turn the vacuum cleaner on.  He does his own laundry and the outdoor cooking, and that's it.

• Steph omg! CONGRATS! Missed the GM thread here. Eee! I saw your FB message, I am unsure at the moment because one of my BMs and I are supposed to hang out but she hasn't gotten back to me yet to confirm. I will know by the end of the day hopefully!

My confession is that I am spending too much time looking for cars online and haven't studied much at all this week yet. woops.

• Mega confession? If shiit goes south with work and they do have to let me go, I'm not really going to be that upset about being unemployed. I'd love to be a SAHW, so I'd get to for a while. We'de be fine financially (though stretched tight) and I could finally have time to do some of the projects I want.
• That's exactly how I feel, Nebb.  I would eventually do something else, but not the kind of hours I'm pulling now, and I'd have enough severance to pay everything off with a nice chunk for savings.  A few months to do what I want to do, but don't have time for now, would be fantastic.

Not at all related to your confession, but AS A JOKE, my FI wrote up a prenuptial agreement (that looked like a real legal document) that said "If this shiit goes south, Z is entitled to all Green Bay Packer memoribilia in the house." I had never heard that expression before. Most of his friends loved it, his mom was horrified.

• I suppose now that I'm married, I don't have to refer to a friend as a BM anymore. This is gonna take some adjusting, haha.

• Denise - That literally made me lol. Thank you! Now I'm picturing myself like that with Dorito cheese on my chin and everything.

Sesh - I'm so sorry you're in pain. I would seriously take on your pain so that you could get some relief for a while. You shouldn't have to endure that everyday.

Steph - i2i on the cleaning thing. I do something everyday, and I think he might take that for granted. I've tried letting things slide to see if he'd take it upon himself to clean, but after a few days, it just drives me so batty that I wind up snapping at him and doing it myself. He must think I'm crazy pants. He did take the initiative to wash the dishes yesterday, and I told him I was thankful for that. And he gave me chocolate milk, too.

Lol that's some interesting verbage for a prenup, even a not real one. I'd have laughed so hard.

Oh I know, it totally sucks. Chips are my one food weakness. Yes, I profess love for baked goods like cupcakes and such, but I'd say I only ever eat those maybe 3 times a year. Chips though? Yeah, I love them so much. I really have to limit myself.

And now that I'm working out more consistently and harder than I ever have in my life, I've noticed that I no longer crave crappy fast food. Unless I'm drunk. But, then again, I haven't really drank that much since I started training either (maybe 2-3 times, I think), so I guess that's a good thing.
