Aw, I love Taylor Swift! She's been writing and performing her own music since she was 16, and while it's all juvenile, it's personally relevant.  I have a lot more respect for her than other performers her age who just sing what is handed to them.

Yup, all the time wear. With skirts or shorts or leggings or jeans, dressed up or loung wear. A lot of teenagers were wearing them in the summer, now I just see so many people wearing them it bothers me. I am always wondering if I read my forecast wrong and should have brought my umbrella.

I had to endure 8 hours of Taylor Swift on the ride up to NC for Thanksgiving. My uncle and his wife loooooove her (her words, and that's how it sounded) so it was off and on between her and other singers who equally sucked.

As long as she continues to wear underwear while exiting cars, I don't care.

She's the only star my sister likes that doesn't act like a hoar.

Just curious, I didn't do pocketflod invites, but I am wondering what is the big deal about them (in either direction). Is it just a style thing, like people think they are overkill or something? I guess I don't really think twice about invites unless they are ugly or really poorly DIY.
  • Options
re pocketfolds, I just think they're kind of overdone, like they're just "too much" or something. And many of them are poorly done DIY, which doesn't help their case any. I mean I've seen some nice ones that people have DIY'd, but overall it's just ... not my style I guess!

I like them, but it just seems like it's all anyone does now. Which is how I feel about damask too.

I would never attempt DIY pocket fold invites, seems like disaster waiting to happen. I feel like every wedding invite I've received in the past two years has been a pocketfold, none of them were DIY, or if they were the were insanely well done. I really like them personally b/c everything is neatly put together, and I'm an organization freak.

I'm doing pocket invites. I really didn't care either way, it was what I found on clearance for about $8 a box so it's what I'm going with. I'm letting FI design them so I hope they come out ok.

On the FB front, inviting all your FB friends to events. I realize you may work in marketing or promotion, but seriously? Just send to to people who might be interested or that it's relevant to. I get invites to bible inspired cardio classes, young black entrepreneur networking happy hours (I'm Irish) and comedy shows in LA (I live in NJ) to name a few. If you're going to friend 80% of your HS graduating class perhaps create a fan page for your business networking on FB so you're not bothering us all with your event invites, jackass.

Okay, more of an op/ed piece but here goes:
Breast Cancer "awareness" that has women thinking they are practically doomed to one day get breast cancer, and full of vaguely demeaning, patronizing innuendos (Save the Tatas!). How about some colon cancer awareness? That is killing MORE people, believe it or not! I know several people who have had breast cancer and one who died of it, but between the panic "awareness" has spread and the idiotic campaigns, I don't know what to say.
