I wouldn't want to work per se but what I'd be doing would be like work. I want to buy a house with a bit of property in the country and have a fairly large garden, I want to keep chickens, be as self sustaining as I can be, maybe even make some money on the extra veggies we have. I'd be blissed out doing that for the rest of my life, but I know financially we can't right now cause of debt.
• I'd go crazy as a SAHW. Now if I could be independently wealthy and not work that would be something else.

FH has said he'd be happy to be a SAHH but I don't think he realizes how much work it can be. We're not having kids though so it doesn't make sense for him to stay home.

• Nebb, that sounds pretty awesome. Except I wouldn't be able to kill any of my animals to eat. I'd be too sad because I get attached.

When I was writing my last book, I talk a lot about the orange groves that used to be in my family and now, I want to have a huge orange grove. I know nothing about them, but I want one. We drove by huge groves going to the powwow and I wanted to run through them but my mom wouldn't let me.

I want to see a real life orange grove. We have orchards everywhere here, and I just love driving around, looking at them and taking photos. I'd loooove to have a small field of nectarine, peach, apple, and cherry trees.
• I wish I was a SAHW. H said he wants to just be a pro golfer and then I wouldn't have to work. He can dream, but it's never happening hahaha.

Morning! I feel like I shrunk down again a bit weight-loss wise, so I am excited today. I haven't actually measured myself to find out for sure, but it feels that way. I have been so slow to loose weight, but at least I am still trying for it.

AND- next week is a two day week for me- taking vacation as my parents are in town for a Twins game and house projects.
• Good morning!

Nebb and Megh- Good luck on your tests!

Today is FI's birthday. He is 27.  He has been all depressed about it because he feels 'old' and that he is almost out of his 20's.  I told him last night that he still had 3 years left in his 20's and he replied "I remember when I had 10 years left in my 20's".  I don't really know how to make him feel better.
I<strong> can't see myself being a SAHW</strong>, at least not for awhile or until I have kids.  Even then, I'd probably do something similar to Edie and stay home while they are really young and then as they go off to school and such gradually go back.  I know in reality they will be in daycare and I will be working my butt off right from the get-go to pay for everything involving kids :).
Posted by lbarr088
I'm with you on that I can't see myself as a SAHW.  I would like to work from home a few days a week if/when we have kids (and even before, really).  There is someone in our office who does that and she loves it.  She comes in two days a week to get out, but the rest of the time is spent in her home office.

Omg.  I'm sorry if this is TMI, but I'm so happy that I need to share with someone.  I finally got my period.  After an 199 day cycle.  I knew I wasn't pregnant and my GYN insists that there isn't anything medically wrong with me (which I'm not sure I believe - no way is 199 days normal, right??), but still.  I never thought I'd be so happy to get a period.

• Morning ladies!   Just a lurker here coming in to say hello.  My morning has been rainy and stormy, but work isn't so bad just yet.  Sad down with some of my managers to talk about a new role that opened up in our group, but I won't hear about anything final for a couple days.  I feel like it all went pretty well, but I am not going to get my hopes up.

In other news, I feel out of the loop, because I've never even heard of Fifty Shades of Gray....
Congratulations, LP.  I'd probably be thrilled to see AF also after that long.  Does your GYN know why it took so long?

<div>Well, I've never been regular except for when I was on BC for 3 years.  But seriously, this is ridiculous.  The only thing she said is that there is a strong possibility that it could be related to my past ED :(  She did a bunch of blood tests and at first thought I might have Cushings Syndrome, but follow up tests eliminated that as a possibility. </div>

Yay! Yeah I would be really happy if I got mine after that long..I hope it's not like really bad since you haven't had one in so long :-/

As far as 50 shades of grey goes--I read it last week. It was very hard for me to take serious for like the first half lol. It's not well written. It was kinda fun because it was different read for me, but I'm not sure if I'm going to read the other 2. If I do, I'm saving it for our honeymoon in June.

I am home sick today. I feel like absolute hell. What started off as a "baby cold" or bad allergies has progressed to a sinus infection. I keep squeezing my top of my nose/eye area trying to make the pressure go away and it doesn't work haha and now my teeth are starting to hurt which is my least favorite part of these things.

WR--I am paying off the photographer today! Which is my last really big expense..FI is supposed to paying off the other vendors we have left, though I may pay for the pie. But I'm excited to have that done!

• Morning,

I'm having a weird day.  I talked to my dad last night and he said something that has me thinking, nothing bad, but I just don't know how to feel about it.  I don't really want to go into it because when I type it out it seems stupid.

On another note, I'm trying to plan my weekend, it's my Granny's 87th birthday and my cousins (aka, her grandchildren) are pretty much ignoring it.
• Morning all.  I've finally bitten the bullet and have the Hunger Games sitting on my desk here at work. One of my co-workers read it on his vacation in Costa Rica.  He said it was great.  I figure for free, I'll read it.  If I like it, then I'll move on to the next level.  I now remember why I don't drink hot tea in a sippy cup on the way to work.  I've had to go to the bathroom about 5 times this morning already.

Dream AATB, thanks for helping me set up wifi so that I could create my Spongebob Garden.  And thanks for flirtiing with the schoolbus driver so he'd drop us off on the right corner.
• What the motherfuck. Management just called us in to say we are now being forced to work 2 hours of OT every day this week, and all day on Saturday if they so choose.

I'm exhausted from working as it is and am about to drop. This is going to be miserable.
• I guess I'm considered a SAHW right now. It's because I couldn't find a job when we moved down here and then found out I was pregnant. I sometimes struggle with it. I miss working but I also enjoy making sure the house is clean and organized, etc. I'd like to find a job but no way anyone would hire a pregnant teacher and I can't really hide my bump.

LP- 199 days is not normal. I'd be seeking out a second opinion.

• Bk  - I always read your name as BookSeller, so when you say you haven't read the Hunger Games, it is kind of surprising to me. :)
• Also LP- I didn't have mine during my eating disorder but as soon as I started eating again and getting enough nutrients, it came right back. So unless you still struggle with the ED, then I wouldn't think it would be that.

<div>I thought the same thing, but she insists it's possible.  And the GYN I went to back in DC said the same thing, too.  I still struggle with a lot of the emotions related to eating/body image, but I definitely eat enough calories now.  I've gained 20 pounds since we moved here, actually.</div>

Yeah, 2 hours every day, starting today. I'll do an hour in-house but the rest I'm doing at home. I can't be here that long every day or I'll just give out. I'm running low on energy due to everything else and I don't know how I'm going to get through this week.

They copped an attitude like we are all slow, doing something wrong for not being able to get the queue down (never mind that they tripled the sales team). Ungrateful. That's the nice word for it.
• Sesh, wtf?  Do you guys have a company handbook that outlines things that like?  If so I'd look up and see if they can actually make you do that on a whim.

Weird. I still think that, even if it is because of the ED, they should give you a suggestion other than "well, looks like you just had a 199 day cycle."

She told me to take Provera.  But that's not going to fix the problem, it' just going to cause withdrawal bleeding.  I was actually going to go today and get the RX filled, ironically. I'm glad I didn't already start taking it.

Edit: Before I started BC, and even before I started my ED, my cycles were long - anywhere from 60 to 120+  days.  But never 199 before.  I think that's why she's not overly concerned, especially since my bloodwork is coming back clean.  But  H and I want to start TTC this fall, and if I only have 2 periods a year, it's probably going to take a really long time to actually get pregnant.  And I turn 30 in August, which adds to my stress about it.

• Hopefully, because they have this documented already, they will be able to do something right away to kick start your cycles. Have you mentioned the TTC concern to her yet?

This is why the Morocco pavilion at Epcot is my favorite. They have these tangerine trees that smell amazing, I love it. And on Soarin' at Epcot, there's a scene where you fly over the orange groves in Ojai (IIRC) and they make it smell like oranges in there.

• Shay, they can do whatever they want. Technically, they can't force OT on anyone. But if you don't do it, they'll just put you on a performance plan for poor performance and use it as justification to fire you.
