Good Morning

Good morning. I abandon a thread I started here Sunday because TK issues made it disappear and I thought it was gone for good. Weird.

Is anyone else salivating for the weekend already? Three days! Sounds like heaven!

Re: Good Morning

  • I've got mixed feelings about this weekend. We're going camping so it could be fun or it could be a disaster. So far the weather looks like it will cooperate but it can be so unpredictable in the mountains.

We're leaving Wednesday night so I only have two more days to get through. Unfortunately I have about 3 days worth of work. The good news is that my coworker is out today so i have the office to myself. I'm more productive this way.

  • Is it 5:00 yet?

I'm still feeling gross. I need to make a Dr. appointment for tomorrow/Thursday. I'm coming to the conclusion that this is a mono flare up. :(

I'm sitting in my car waiting for my 2 bloodwork for this stupid test. I'm so pissed I'm missing work to sit in my god damned car for 2 hours. I emailed on friday letting them know but didn't hear anything from the boss so we will see if I get shiiit for this. I'm hungry too. I had to fast and can't eat anything until after my next test at 10:30
  • Morning!

I slept so well last night, I did not want to get up.

Lenore I am so looking forward to 3 days off, I want to shop for my plants and get them in the ground.

Saturday we have dinner reservations for dinner. so I may see if my hairdresser is available so I can look purty.

  • Morning. I called in sick for the first time since I've started my job here and I feel bad for some reason.

  • Ah Celtic I love camping! We have two camping trips planned for the summer and I can't wait!

I came to school extra early this morning for some reason and I forgot that I had already set the morning stuff up for my kids so I'm just killing time.

I have a job application conundrum. When all this crap at school started happening, I e-mailed the principal of the school affiliated with our church to ask where new teaching job postings would be posted. We e-mailed back and forth a couple times and ended it with "keep an eye on the diocese website". Well about a week and a half ago, she e-mailed me a job posting at the school. It's not even on the diocese website yet, and the fact that she emailed it to me tells me she obviously wanted me to apply for it.

So I did. I e-mailed her my resume stuff first thing Monday morning (so a little over a week ago). I never got any sort of reply from her, so I e-mailed her on Friday morning to follow up and be sure she got it (because it's possible the email filter at the school blocked it out with enough attachments). She STILL hasn't replied. And before she was emailing right away when we were back and forth.

So idk if I should e-mail her again or not? Or call her? On the one hand, I don't want to be pushy. But I don't want to miss out on this awesome opportunity if she's not getting my e-mails (FMIL works at a hospital and lately only about half of my emails, even without attachments, have been going through, so filters can be strange.

Gah sorry to overtake th emorning thread. I didn't want to start a whole new thread about it.

Chels- I think I would call her, I've had that happen with a few things and most the time it's because they got busy, or had a family emergency, or even internet issues.

Just touch base by phone verify she got it and leave it at that.

  • The weather here sucks. I hate rain. DB hates being walked in the rain even more but I force her to go since she's crated until late afternoon when FI gets home.

I got my first TB test today. That was weird. Since I'm moving my affiliation to the medical center I get to have all of that fun stuff done. Then I have to do a repeat of it in 2 weeks. That's pretty much all that I got for now ;)

Brandi, I always feel guilty even when I have a legitimate reason to be out of work. I rarely take time off because I feel bad about it. I feel super guilty about the honeymoon... I've never taken more than 2 days off at a time.
  • Chels I would just call her and make sure she got it.

I hate getting my yearly TB test. My skin always turns super red and it stays that way for weeks. They used to make me get it repeated but after a few years of that happening every time they finally accepted that my skin is just sensitive to it.

  • lbarr, won't they jus tlet you transfer your "results" from one place to the next since it's such a short timeframe? TB tests annoy me lol. I always get really itchy from them.
  • Nebb, that just sucks. Hope you get out of there and fed soon!

My gripe this morning is I am tired of the massive pollen that all of our warm weather has brought on here in Minneapolis. I heard on the news this AM it is the highest pollen count here in fifty years. I can't do most meds mecause they knock me out, and I have felt like I have a cold for three weeks as a result.

We are having out of town family Saturday, going to a friend's beach place on the St Croix Sunday, and Monday I am heading to Mystic with my mom just for a meal, a little shopping and people watching. Neither of us gamble. DH wants to spend quality time on Monday completing our basement in the endless project that is our house. Last weekend it was putting coats of finish on the banisters - yeak, the allergies loved that but hey it looks awesome.

I know they want me to stay home because no one wants to catch a stomach bug and take it home to their kids, but I think it makes me look like a slacker. I'm just glad one of my bosses is a family friend and can call him about it.

Also, since you have a flying fear, where are you going on your HM?

  • Chels, nope! And you would think because the university and medical center are affiliated it would be so simple yet it's the most complicated process ever. I just want it all to be done and for everything to move as smoothly as possible so I can make the new hire orientation at the beginning of June... if not I will be without insurance and pay until the middle of the month once my contract at the university is terminated ... woo!

Brandi, a cruise :) I made sure there would be no flying involved!
  • Lbarr I am jealous of your cruise. I've never been on one and FI is afraid of them. Ironically his dad was in the Navy and loves boats.

  • Nebb, that sucks! I had 14 (I wish I were exaggerating) vials of blood taken over a week ago. I hate bloodwork. I was supposed to go to the doctor on 6/11, but then my job told me we are having a training that day, so I rescheduled it for 6/18....then they cancelled because the doctor isn't going to be there that day, so now I go on 6/25. I have to wait over a friggin month now to know what the eff is going on.

Lenore, I am jealous. I want to go somewhere...anywhere.

I am excited for the weekend though. I need the time off, and the fresh watermelon margaritas that my sister will be making on Sunday at her BBQ. I love going over her house for parties because she is Martha Stewart/Betty Crocker all in one and makes the most amazing things.

    Good morning, ladies.

The room at the Y was exceptionally warm this morning, and it made me feel icky and lightheaded. It's supposed to be 90* today.

DMills - I thought of you last night when I turned on the stove burner and a moth flew out and got torched in the flame.

Brandi - I feel the same way about missing work. Last Friday was my first day of PTO all year, and I almost felt guilty for being gone.
Good morning. I so did not want to get out of bed this morning. As it was, I got up late and had to move my ass to work on time. I did but stupidfucking morning drivers were worse than usual. Grr. Nebb, are the tests related to the specialist you saw last week? Chels, call her. Brandi, feel better. I went to work a couple of Mondays ago not feeling well and I ended up throwing up at work. I hate throwing up but even more so when it's not at home. If you're not feeling well, I'd just go home.

I find it funny that both Brandis are sick. Although I refuse to stay home.

  • Morning! I got the best news last night: I'm getting promoted at work on June 1st! Woohoo! The funny thing is, this is off my test scores from last May's advancement test. I'm still curious to see how well I did on the list for this May's test, even though it won't matter since I'm already getting promoted off of last May's list.

I'm frustrated about our house-hunting situation in VA. We have the funds for a security deposit + application fees, we have a list of houses we're interested in, we've made calls expressing our interest, and NO ONE is getting back to us. I hate house-hunting from afar. But, hey, it could be worse. We could be interested in a place and not have the funds. Or there could be no houses that suit our needs/tastes. So, I probably shouldn't be complaining. We still have over a month here, so we're not at zero hour just yet.

  • Morning! Today started out way better than yesterday- I was just in the worst mood for basically no reason all of yesterday. Plus there are a couple album releases I am super happy about today, so I can listen to new music.

lbarr- does your cruise take off from boston or something?
  • Congrats on the promotion Mehg!
  • Congrats on the promotion Mehg! Where are you going to be in VA?

  • Good morning!

I'm on homework duty today and probably going out to the driving range later but most of my day will be spent with my new little friend Oliver:

Meet Oliver! Oliver decided to visit our yard via a 40+foot drop out of a neighbor's tree.

Dislikes: stomping people, loud noises, not being able to fly, & being hungry

Likes: squished worm meal, large protective fences, & day lilies to hide under

Flying lessons begin in earnest today.
  • We're going to be stationed in Yorktown, so around that area.

And thanks, ladies! It took me about 4 1/2 years to get promoted, but I went through A LOT in that time. This feels really good. I'm just not sure if it'll affect my position in my new office in Yorktown, since they're expecting to get a worker-bee, but at my new rank, I'll be more of a supervisorial role.

    In Response to Re:Good Morning:
Good morning.Nebb, I hope it goes quickly. At least maybe you'll have answers soon! With being gone a few days last week, how did the initial talk with the specialist go? Posted by djhar
It was a load of shite. According to him I'm a hairy beast that is just fat cause I'm fat.
  • Aw Anna Oliver is super cute! I'm glad you have been able to help him!
