[QUOTE]I read a book once where there was a set of twin boys. During the circumcision, they lasered his peen off by accident. So some Dr thought it would be a good idea to make him a girl. They removed his bits and told him he was a girl. It made for a rough life and major sexual confusion. But it did prove the point that sexuality is a result of nature, not nurture. This poor guy thought he was a lesbian, when in fact he was a straight man.

Whoa, that's sounds crazy. Do you remember the name of the book?

It was an episode of Law & Order SVU too. It was just on the other day. So sad. Mom had been slipping her "special vitamins" that were actually hormones to make him/her more feminine.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Current Events - WDYT? : I was agreeing with you about it being a good comparison and then just sharing that I had my ears pierced very young because you said infants or babies, not 12 year olds.

Oh I know, I was just talking about it more. I didn't think you disagreed. :)

I wouldn't mind reading the book then. That episode was deep. So many underlying emotions and only an hour to touch upon them. The book should be riveting

Sorry, I think it was just the way I read it. I was like, wait, does she think I was saying she was wrong??
• This is the book. "As Nature Made Him: The boy who was raised as a girl" by John Colopinto

• Thanks! I added it to my To Reads
• We will be circumcising our sons if we have any. There are health benefits and I think overall it will be best for my children. I've known 3 men who opted to be circumcised later in life because of constant infections and other issues. The procedures were extremely painful and traumatic for them. I also don't know any men who are circumcised that wished they were uncut. I also in some ways defer to my FI. Since he has a peen he knows a tad more about this then me and he is very pro circumcision for our sons.

I also wouldn't compare this at all to female circumcision. In female circumcision there are no health benefits and often there is such extreme damage such as complete removal of the clitoris (we don't remove the entire penis) and nor does circumcision of males involve suturing shut the penis in any way so to preserve the man's virginity or state of cleanliness. I just don't consider the concepts comparable in any way.

Also, we will probably pierce the ears of our newborn baby girls. I find sapphire or diamond studs to be utterly adorable and its a pretty common tradition in Italian families.
