Snarky Brides

talk to me?

hi. I'm bored, and I'm currently too lazy to walk downstairs to watch tv with H. yes, really. Tell me things. Anything new and exciting going on? Favorite color? 5 things you could never live without?

Re: talk to me?

  • I'm about to head out for the night but here are my 5 things:

    Coffee
    Wine
    Cheese
    Boots
    Jeans

Oh, and I suppose H and the dogs too.

  • I am on a break from training. I haven't been at my own desk for more that 3hours a day. My morning started off bad. I broke a brand new bottle of insulin. I barely had enough to cover my morning dose. I normally have it mailed to me which lets me get 4 bottle for the price of 3. Now I have to go p/u at the pharmacy and possibly be charged full price.

I have no idea what is for dinner, either stop by at my parents for dinner or eat out. I have to go to the mall to get my eyebrows threaded because they are starting to become on.
  • The woman who sits in the cube right outside of my office door says "mmmHMMM" all the time and snorts while she laughs, which she has been doing in a personal conversation with another employee for the last 20 minutes.  It's driving me crazy.
    image
  • I'm grading papers/stories. 9 left. I need to go heat up dinner but I don't feel like it.

    5 Things:
My family (this includes H and Sir Whisky. Yes, I cheated)
    At least 1 hairtie
    Something to write with/on
    A bra (unless it's just H and me, then I don't care)
    My favorite book

I have nothing new going on currently. Except that I'm preparing for my book event next month - going to a powwow. I'm excited.
  • Oh wait, I do have super awesome news. The always-sick dude who coughs constantly and got everyone in our area sick - he was moved to a different department yesterday. It's so peaceful and pleasant. I'd forgotten what it was like to work without the sound of infection being coughed into my ears all day long.
  • Hi. I just made an appointment with an LPC for Monday. Gah. I'm kind of not looking forward to it, mostly because I don't really like to talk about my issues, but I was told by my work if I didn't do it, I'd be let go. So yeah. Fun week here : /

    I couldn't live without:

    My computer
    Peanut butter
    Kindle
    Tacos
    H.

And my favorite color is purple.

H and I just got from Dave and Buster's. He took the day off today for my birthday and we've just hung out all day. We ran into our friend who works there. She was a bridesmaid for my wedding, and I'm one of hers for her wedding. I was so excited to see her! We played games, and I hit the jackpot on one of the games, which got me 150 tickets. It was AWESOME! Then we stopped for milkshakes.

    5 things:
    1. Family (which includes H and his family)
    2. My friends
    3. Mexican food
    4. A warm blanket and pillow
    5. Books

  • celles- my new coworker has the most annoying laugh. I love her to death, but sometimes she's just way too damn chipper. good call on the hair tie, sesh. that would have to be one of mine too. I'm considering starting a new book. any suggestions? I read The Handmaid's Tale on Monday. I was surprised by how good it was, but I freaking hated the (non)ending.
  • I think doing invitations is going to drive me insane. Actually, my mom asking about invitations is going to drive me insane.

    Things I couldn't live without:
    1. My dog
    2. Blankets
    3. Pillows
    4. something to read
    5. Umm...pepsi.
FI and family is a given I'm assuming?

    Hello!

    1. Computer/Internet
    2. Books
    3. Cheese
    4. Slippers
    5. Edited to change to Pillows.  I can't sleep without a pillow.

Steph- I love The Handmaid's Tale!  It's one of the best dystopian books I've read.

Have you ever read The Unbearable Lightness of Being?  That one is great.  Earth Abides is a good post-apopolyptic novel.

I also suggest Neil Gaimon or Chuck Palahniuk as far as authors.

boo, so do I. not often at work though, thankfully. How often does it happen? It's weird to me that a bank would require you to see a shrink?

You know, I think this is an awesome idea. And you're right, it would make an awesome book. You just have to promise to still be friends with me in 3-5 years, because that's how long it would take for me to even start it.

Any, I know it sucks, but I'm glad you're seeing the doc for it. I think it will really help, not only with work but with any situation in the future.

To be fair, it does happen often enough. Not so much lately (once in the last month) but when I first started and was super nervous about every little mistake I made, it was more frequent. And yeah, it is kinda weird, but they're also paying for it, so meh.

<div>That's pretty awesome. That means they're investing in you as employee, so they must like you, or it will at least get you some job security.  Companies don't usually pour money into an employee just to fire them.  At least, I wouldn't think so.</div>
