Re: christmas gifts

• Oh Nebb :( I don't even know what to get him for his birthday (nov 13) or for the wedding (nov 20) yet! Christmas!?

• So far all I've figured out is that Scott is getting the drill he's been wanting forever.

I think we're also getting new flooring for our dining room from my parents :)
• Ooh, nice. That's cool looking. This is our gift, to each other. We usually do joint gifts to do or get something we want (last year it was a B&B stay):

• We normally just save money as our gift to eachother for boxing day shopping, but I want to get him extra this year. In return, I will insist I get a massage at the spa as extra :D

His birthday is in 3 weeks and were going on a trip to Toronto for the day - a tour of our favourite brewery, taking him two his two favourite comicbook stores, and then a major steak dinner at a really nice restaurant. We do things more than gifts, I suppose.
• For the hell of it, I will also share my other gifts. I'm done with my mom's shopping. I got her an ugly chicken on a swing and 2011 Extraordinary Chickens calendar (our yearly gag gift tradition), and an antique seashell that matches her living room. My stepdad is getting shirts and a blown up picture from the wedding (he loves sentimental gifts). My dad gets a calendar with pictures from this past year, as it was a big one for the family (our wedding, my brother graduating and moving off to college, among other things).

Those are the for sure gifts. I have ideas for everyone else but haven't bought anything yet. I love Christmas shopping.
• We're probably getting this for each other:

We have a new math teacher who is awesome and his wife works for LG, so I think FI and I are going to pitch in and get this guy for Christmas.

If not, I might get him a mini laptop, like my netbook. He really wants one, but it depends on Black Friday prices.
• scotts birthday is the 12th and i have no idea what to get him. some years i suck at presents.

The 12th as in next Tuesday? That's my birthday too! So what are you getting me? My mom already got me Beauty & the Beast on DVD today, just so you know.

H's birthday is Nov. 27th and he wants a BB gun. He's not getting a damn BB gun so I need to think of something else.
• I am normally great with gifts for my other family members but my super thoughtful gifts to my mom and 2 aunts last year are still untouched as of today (I got my mom and one aunt gift cards to ikea, and my other aunt a gift card to any spa in Toronto). Im a bit miffed and dont know wtf to get them this year.

[QUOTE]Hmmm, I don't know yet. We usually make a Christmas Wish List after Thanksgiving. I'll know what to get him by then. I know he wants a new 4x4 truck with a crew cab but yeah, I can't just purchase a truck, LOL.

So do we. Otherwise, it's impossible for us to shop for each other. We suck at gifts.

Also, I forgot--Nebb, cool gift.

• I am getting Kyle a Playstation Move for Xmas. And he just informed me that he wants a new pack (emergency military backpack thing) but its almost 200 bucks and after the playstation im not sure if I will have the cash.

My moms birthday is on the 14th and I have no idea what to get her. She refuses to give me any ideas on what she might possibly want. Ugh.

• Christmas gifts have barely registered on my radar so far. I've thought about it the same way I do every year. I know I should start thinking about it now and making a small list with some ideas and pick up some things now, but I won't. I will literally go out about a week or two before Christmas, and get all of my shopping done in a day or two and basically want to ram my head into the nearest concrete wall afterwards.

I guess you could call it my own personal Christmas tradition. I work better under pressure.

• I love christmas, so ive been planning for it for a month or two now. I have plans of what to get people but I havnt bought any of it yet. I think I might buy things as opposed to gift cards this year. Gift cards obviously didnt work.
• If I bought H B&TB as a gift he'd just ask what his real present was. We'd all know it was really a present for me. I had to bribe him to watch the Princesss & the Frog with me (which he ended up loving anyway).

I pretend that GSP, Willowbrook, Palisades, etc don't exist after Black Friday. They just get so wild and after working at Express for years, I hate people.

I like giving things. it's easy with my mom, just get her something nautical related and she's thrilled. or a geode thing (the polished rocks orr whatever they're called). But my brother will probably get a gift card because it's his first year away at college and he has no money, so he could use some help with groceries and things.

Everyone else though, I love finding something that I know they will love.
• I have no clue what to get Scott for his birthday. It's Dec 23rd so it's hard to not just lump it in with his Christmas stuff. I do like to get him something small on his actual bday too though. (Because he was adopted he was born on Dec 3rd but birth certificate says 23rd because it took 20 days for him to be real I guess)
• Nice gift Nebb!

My H is a huge mafia/mafia movie/sopranos fan. This year, I'm having Henry Hill write a letter to my H. I think. i haven't figured out if it's one of those "I think it's awesome but really it's lame" gifts.
• This year FI and I will most likely for go major gifts to one another and get a new TV for the living room. We want to go big 60inches and get it on black Friday for the extra sales.
We always say we won't get each other anything but end up getting small gifts anyways.

Oh me too. So I'll run to Target, Home Goods, BB&B and order online instead of going to an actual mall.

I don't know why I do this to myself. It's how I am with almost everything exceot for projects at work and wedding planning. Everything else get's pushed to the last minute so that I have no choice. It's good times. Nothing like some good old holiday road rage, haha.

Nates, have you ever gone to Woodbury Commons on black friday?? Oh. My. God.

Ugh, my friend went last year. At midnight, the cars were backed up way back by the Sterling Forest/Ringwood/West Milford exit. It was crazy.

ETA: I do love Black Friday shopping, but I plan it out so that I hit stores in the lull between the early, early shoppers and the afternoon people. Also, I love Target Christmas shopping!

For his birthday I'm going to make his favorite meal. (it's Oct 30)

For our anniversary on Dec 12th, I have no clue. none.
