christmas gifts

Re: christmas gifts

  • I like to spoil my nephews for Christmas and birthdays and this is what they want this year. I can't get one and not the other.

  • I think I'm going to get FI this t-shirt:

Because it's awesome, and he'll appreciate it.
  • Question: I wanted to get one of these for my brother, and some ironic pins and tshirts. He is a very strange teenage boy (indie artsy scenester type of kid) and I think he would like it but im not sure if he will get the shiit made fun of him more so than he already does. Thoughts??

  • Last year I went to Target on black Friday. Oh.My.God. I thought I was going to have to stab some people! I couldn't even make it into the electronics department! People were setting TV's in strollers and making their 3yr old run with them through Target at 5AM.

This year I am coming prepared, dressed ready for war. The toy section was crazy too. I have a feeling I will be yelling at people "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY DAMN BARBIE YOU HOAR". Oh yes, I see it now.
In Response to Re: christmas gifts : Ugh, my friend went last year.  At midnight, the cars were backed up way back by the Sterling Forest/Ringwood/West Milford exit.   It was crazy. ETA: I do love Black Friday shopping, but I plan it out so that I hit stores in the lull between the early, early shoppers and the afternoon people.  Also, I love Target Christmas shopping!
    Posted by NatesGirl16
Yeah, it's pretty terrible. I have never went shopping at all on black friday because honestly, I think I'd be in jail for assault.
Anna, I've heard DC is fun for honeymoons, just saying... I have no clue what to get Scott's family, as usual. I get frustrated getting them things. I hate doing generic stupid crap, but the couple times I've done personal things I feel like they didn't really like it so yeah, boo.

I think I've missed the boat on honeymooning.  I guess it's just a vacation now.

Yeah, but it'll be over a year.  I guess it'd be an anniversary trip when we finally are able to.  Probably not for years since we are about to be very, very, very broke.  ;)

A restaurant/Sports bar.  This city really needs one.  We'll have an excessive number of beer on tap and a huge frozen drink bar, including wine slush.  yum!

  • I would love to open a restaurant of some kind, simply because my city is really lacking on NON chain restaurants, but I dont know the first thing about it so it would never be an option. I think thats awesome youre jumping in!
  • Lee is getting a canvas print of his beloved dog, who we had to put to sleep in March.  It's from CanvasPop, where they take your photo and make a stretched canvas print.  Here's the original photo:

That's our city too.  The mom & pop owned places have all been edged out by Champps, Applebees, Chilis, Ruby Tuesday, and Red Lobster.  That's about all the type of restaurants we have.
  • Les, is that an aussie? What a gorgeous pup. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

Thanks, Jas.  Yes, she's an Aussie.  She was DH's beloved companion and confidant for almost 16 years.  She was the best dog ever.
