Oh, hai.

What's up?

I finally finished all of my errands today and after dropping Bax off at the Petshotel, the apartment is so sad and quiet :(

Re: Oh, hai.

  • Hola. I'm sitting my ass on the couch and refusing to go back outside. It's nasty out.

H was trying to convince me to bake cookies. Why he thinks I want to sit in front of a hot oven for an hour is beyond me.
  • Mmm, we had fajitas with guacamole the other night. So good!
  • Cookies are not worth the work in this heat.

I am at the point where I need to touch my toenail to see if it's dry, and it might either be perfect or a big, sticky clusterfuck. First world problems.
  • It's weird how strange your house feels without a mutt in it.

I'm getting nervous that I'm about to get a frantic call from my H shortly.  The big dog had tummy issues this morning but seemed to be alright when I left.  H gets home first and I'm hoping there isn't an accident waiting for him.

  • I have so much work to do. Nothing got done while I was off. I heard they want to push our payroll back a day. So instead of getting paid next Wednesday I'd get paid Thursday. This normally happens when Monday is a holiday.

I also have no idea what is for dinner. I haven't went grocery shopping in a while.

    HI!

We're doing leftovers for dinner tonight. Yay Vietnamese food!

I agree with you, Steph. It's too hot for anything right now. I've been sitting on my couch all day trying to work up the energy to do laundry. LAUNDRY! Our house AC is set to turn on if it gets hotter than 86 degrees. Yeah, I'm making H change that when he get's home. I'm on vacation this week and it needs to be cooler during the day. I have a fan on, but that's not helping as much as you would think.

  • Hope the pup's okay, Girlie.

Dodger's, I bought that J Crew-ish necklace from Ebay today.  I'm hoping it looks nice when it comes in.

<div>Holy crap, you have a squash! And now I will read that thread.</div>
  • Good grief.  You shouldn't need to scroll through someone's sig.

Being super pregnant during the summer here is a big fear of mine.  I'm pretty sure I'd want to spend every waking moment in a pool with blocks of ice dumped in every 10 minutes to keep it cooler than bath water.

<div>Yeah, I got pregnant at the best possible time, I think. Yeah, it's hot now, but at least I'm not THAT pregnant. Two of my coworkers were pregnant at this time last year, and they were just miserable. And I think it's going to be even hotter this summer.</div>

  • crf, you can tell me to take a flying leap but why are you afraid of cracking?
    image
  • Hi.

I'm waiting on H to finish mowing the grass so he can shower and we can go out for supper.  I'm hungry.  It's too hot to cook, and we don't have anything in the house because we're leaving tomorrow for the beach and haven't grocery shopped.

Random, but I submitted a fb screenshot to STFUParents the other day, and just got a reply from them that someone else had submitted the same thing.  Methinks it might have been one of you people.  I'm really curious now.
  • What was the submission, pirate?

I'm not doing much. I finally don't feel like barfing so I'm trying to get some writing done. H is still working so we'll figure out dinner when he's done.

  • Pirate- was it something you shared here?

Im in a pissy mood. I dont wanna go to work tomorrow and im worried about the dog. He STILL wont drink water. He has only willingly drank water once since we got him home on thursday. I tricked him three times into drinking by putting a splash of beer into a dish of water, and we have been putting quite a lot of water into his food (canned food for now, enough to make it like a disgusting dog soup), but other than that he just wont drink.

How do you force a dog to drink water? Hes being a stubborn little ass.

It was a mommyjacking.  I don't want to totally share because it was another SB person's page.  (ZOMG we're talking about fb on tk)

ETA: and the mystery of the double submission is solved :)

</div><div>I could be totally, completely, 100% wrong here but if Fox wasn't drinking I would call the vet. Is it possible for you to syringe squirt some water into his mouth? I would be worrying if Fox didn't drink. I hope the little guy feels better.

I called them on Friday afternoon about it, and they said that if he is eating wet food just to add water into it and he should be fine, but its monday and he still isnt unless I trick him. I have a follow up appointment with the vets on Friday to check him out, but I may call them tomorrow just to run it past them. I dont know how what else to do. Theo nly syringe we have is his medicine one, and he fights that one enough as it is so I dont want to make it worse (since starting tomorrow, my 65 year old mother has to give him his meds).

[QUOTE]It's not that I am afraid. I just don't want to do it anymore.  I have wanted to and tried (successfully and non-successfully) a number of times over the past, say, 15 years.  My knuckles are getting bigger in the past couple of years, and I don't want them to be huge.

<div>HA! Okay, I read your other post as if you were trying not to emotionally crack.  Like, avoid a breakdown.  Not pop your fingers. </div>
  • Oh geez crf - I thought you meant mentally crack.  Short term memory?  Yeah, I don't have one.  :/

Nebb, if you pull up on the skin on the back of his neck, does it go back down right away or stay up for a little while?  You can also give him clear unflavored Pedialyte instead of water in his dog food soup.  When my dobie wouldn't drink, I also put her favorite cookies in a shallowish bowl of water so she had to "dive" for them and got some mouthfulls of water in the process.

  • No panicked call from H yet, that's a good sign.  Poor dog has only had one other accident in the house and he looked so upset, even though it wasn't his fault.

  • Evening.  I decided I was in the Moe's mood tonight so now I'm eating a giant burrito and I'm happy.  I was making a list of all the things I need to finish for the wedding and should be completely done by Wednesday night.  I feel too calm.

  • They do crf, yet this same dog will look me right in the eye and bark when he knows he shouldn't be.  Turd.

Almost there Brandi!  I think I had pretty much reached my "eff it" mode at this point and was just ready to get the show on the road.

</div><div>I know! :)  I think my problem is that I'm typically so high strung/high stress that I think I've emotionally removed myself entirely from this wedding. I don't picture it all together at all, I just do individual things.  I am super calm, but also not really that excited either.  Hopefully next week I can let myself get more excited.</div>

  • I am mad at your burrito, Brandi. We ran to the mall when H got home and I tried to get Qdoba but they massacred my chicken burrito . I consoled myself by buying a party dress.

Boo. Sorry they messed up your burrito. Party dress is awesome, though.
