In Response to Re: I'm drinking and feeling chatty : Yep.  It was a real revelation when I first went to China.

I didn't make it to China, but NYC's Chinatown has some good old fashioned cooking if you find the right spot.  (Usually the restaurant with limited regular old white people tourists)
• Having never been to China or Chinatown, I'll have to stick to the place next to the Chinese Methodist Church here where I can't read the menu or sometimes identify the dishes.  It's delicious.
• Also, I would love to find a way to tell my social awkward co-worker that it's not super great for my self esteem to tell me that I'm "not tiny or small, but moderately sized, weight wise" (yes he told me this today) But that's too awkward a convo to have. Although as I drink more, it seems more and more attractive an option.

Yeah, we'd already had that converstaion like 4 hours prior about a different comment. I didn't want to be too hard on him in one day. I've been training him since I got here and he is getting better. But I think the bigger issue isn't just that he said it, but that it's what he thinks too. I mean, I'm a size 4. If you think I'm not small, you're just further limiting your potential dating pool.

In my case it's awkward chemists. I'm not sure who would be worse, a chemist or an accountant...?

• I don't know what anyone is talking about it.

I'm getting acrylic tips put on tomorrow. I want a Winter design but can't pick one.
• HI!

I'm being a rebel. I saw a memo today (I assume the sign up went around while I was out sick) saying I'm supposed to bring potato salad or a vegetable dish for our work potluck tomorrow. No way I'm going shopping just for the sake of my coworkers, so I made pasta salad instead with what I had at home. So there!
• Durn tootin'. Ain't no one gonna tell ME what to do. ;-P
• Actually, other than having slight vertigo this morning, it was a really good day at work. I'm so glad to be back to feeling productive again. Plus, my boss obviously missed me helping keep him on track last week. :)
• I feel like I'm coming back to a wasteland.  I've missed chatting with you all! I haven't read anything either.  I've basically been living at work or in front of my textbooks for the past two weeks.
In Response to Re: I'm drinking and feeling chatty : I love it  :-) az, you have vertigo?
Posted by edielaura
Occasionally, yeah. I've only had it so bad it incapacitated me once - for about two days. But I seem to have more issues with it when I have a head cold of sorts. The room spins when I lay down or shift positions too fast. Maybe something to do with the hearing loss?
• Edie, I like these, but they seem like a lot of work.

So, I'll probably get plain French tip with a red and glitter line on the top.
• I bought Essie's Scarlet O'Hara nail polish for a festive feel. It's really pretty. The perfect shade of Christmas red. And I love the name.
• Ooh that's pretty OOTB.

How are you by the way? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever.
• I'm here just watching the football game. Trying to figure out how to get everything done this week :/ too much to do.

I know right. It's hard to find a red polish that isn't too hookerish.

I am awesome! Today was my last day of work until January 2nd. I haven't been around in forever because the end of the semester just snuck up on me like whoa. All of my students of course became incredibly needy with the help they wanted. All of my professors decided that we needed group projects/presentations in addition to final exams. And my boss decided he wanted a big push of research done before Christmas break. Last week I didn't get home until after 9pm each night. I plan on doing nothing over break.
