I just remember my dad calling them junk and me telling him he was wrong.....ah parents are right sometimes.
  • Oh Gummy Bears!  I haven't thought about them in so long.  I used to love that show.

Jem and the Thundercats were probably my favorites, along with Strawberry Shortcake, Carebears and the Smurfs. I think when Sparky comes, I'm not letting him watch these weird cartoons they have now. I'll have to dig out old episodes of the Smrurfs and He Man. Oh, and Pound Puppies.

Oh, and some of my friends collected Garbage Pail Kids. I couldn't because they literally grossed me out and I couldn't eat if I saw them.

    Posted by aprovencher21[/QUOTE]

pogs? I loved them! They got baned from elemetary school. If you where really cool you had the metal slammers.

  • I FUCKING LOVE JEM! Now I have to find this Hub channel to watch it.
And I love the Care Bears.

Aprove, I still have my pogs and my slammers. Wanna play?

  • I watched Jem when I babysat during the summer home from college. I did like it, I'll admit.
But Scooby Doo, non-Scrappy is still the best.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew

H feels the same way about the current selection of cartoons on TV.  We have HeMan and She Ra too.....we even have the Christmas special cause we're cool like that.

I love pound puppies and I have some of the stuffed animals somewhere in my storage unit.

Did anyone have American Girl Dolls?

Omg I love my pound puppies one looked like my old dog, so i kept it. Then my new dog found it and chewed it up :(.

I used to play with the real polly pockets for hours, and wear it like a necklace. the new ones suck. They're like a barbie doll. Polly is suppose to go in your POCKET!

  • Jas - I don't even know if I remember how to play lol.....I don't have mine anymore
=( Though H has kept a slammer or two.
  • Sometime between mine and then Manda's Polly Pockets and Chloe's Polly Pockets, they got really big. Polly Pockets used to be teeeeeeeny tiny, like 1/2" tall. I liked those better, because you got these play sets that were whole rooms and parks and houses and stuff. Now it's just this stupid plastic doll with rubber clothes and her playsets don't fit in your pocket. PP FAIL.

Did anyone ever watch Beverly Hills High cartoons? I'm the only person in my circle who remembers this or watched it. There was this asshole named Bianca and they all went to school in white limos and stuff. It was random.

I want to be Jem for Halloween now.

That's all the 80s input I have for this thread.

It was Beverly Hills Teens, and I have a few of those eps on VHS!  Not many of my friends remember those either.

ETA: Missy, Scrappy sucks!  I was always pissed when he was on episodes.  I love Scoobie though.  My first book of checks were Scoobie checks.
  • OMG YES Cran! That's it! No one remembers this cartoon at all. I used to watch it every morning before school, right after Saved By the Bell. :)
  • It came on after school in my area.  The main "good" girl was Lark, and her boyfriend was Troy.  Bianca was a super rich b!itch who tried to steal Troy away from Lark from what I can remember.

The new Polly Pockets are the size of Barbie dolls?  WTH who carries Barbie sized dolls in their pockets.  That's strange and not as much fun.

I had a few polly pockets but I was more of a Barbie girl.  The Barbie stuff they have out not is crap!  I miss the large Barbie dream houses....now they are all these weird apartment-esque style fold away houses with plastic furniture built in.  <sigh /> I wish I'd kept my Barbie dream houses.
  • I did not watch Beverly Hills Teen....but it sounds like something I would have liked.

EmilyW - I still have all of my American Doll stuff as I hope someday I'll have a daughter who will like it.  They've discontinued almost all of my dolls and their stuff!  Makes me sad.
