OMG, the network Hub is going to start playing eps of Jem and the Holograms! I loved that show!! I have been wondering if Hub would start playing Jem since they play GI Joe, He-Man, She-Ra and other shows from that time.
I bought the DVDs years ago, but they never released the second half of the last season and then discontinued the other series so the DVDs were crazy expensive to buy used on Amazon. I hope they eventually release the last episodes.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who loves Jem and the Holograms.

IVF #2 = BFP. Severe OHSS. 4 Drainings. TWINS!
Here's an EW article that suggests Jem would not stand the test of time: http://popwatch.ew.com/2011/04/28/jem-is-back-on-the-hub/
It's written by a Jem fan, but I beg to differ! I think they hold up pretty well, and the fashions would actually fit right in with the likes of Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, et al.
I adore Jem....and I may or may not own the DVDs and one of the dolls. I even have the play light up earrings that were relased when I was little and somewhere there is a video of me rocking out in pink hot pants, the earrings, a pink wig, with a sparkly microphone singing my little 4 year old heart out.

Substitute a pink dress for the pink hot pants and you have me....3 years ago at Halloween.

Ha! Sometimes when I am having a bad day and I want everything to be magically different, I grab my ear lobe and tell Synergy to fix it.

Three years ago I was rainbow brite for Halloween. Though apparently hooker Rainbow Brite cause I felt the need for fishnets.

It's showtime, Synergy! This will be by new mantra. Thanks, Awro!
I was almost Jem for an 80's party earlier this year. I love her make-up and I wish I would have done it but I didn't find the right outfit in time, and I figured no one would go all out like I wanted to. I was right, the people there sucked at dressing 80's.

I'm always afraid with those type of theme parties that people won't get as into it as I do. Usually if its the party I'm throwing I'm happy to go all out cause its fine if the host is a tad crazy.
It's okay; I knew I was young when H didn't get my Pokemon reference because you know, he was in college when they were popular.

I know Pokemon because I have younger siblings. Damn those cards used to get expensive or hard to track down. In Canada did you have areas of game stores just devoted to them? We actually had an entire store at the mall just for Pokemon cards and other stuff.

I love theme parties and dressing up, so I always try and go all out too. I am usually alone, but hey, at least it's fun!

Oh yeah, it was insane. I never got into the cards though, I stuck with the GameBoy games. I may or may not have an emulator with Red/Blue/Yellow on my computer. Brandon doesn't get how awesome it is though. I can't believe I married him.

Me too....at least if its at my house I don't feel foolish.
Maybe I'll be Jem this Halloween and get H to be GI Joe.

Did you guys have those pong things and the slammers to play the game (not related to Pokemon)?

I JUST told my husband that we should get started on our halloween costumes. I'd really like to go as She-Ra and He-Man.

Nice!
Also, do you mean pogs? I had about a million of those.
Why wasn't the last half season released on DVD was there ever a reason given?
Posted by aprovencher21
I heard it was because Rhino sold the rights of a bundle of shows like GI Joe and Jem to another company (maybe Sony) before they were able to release that last bit, and Jem was not the priority so they never released it. You'd think that once they saw people selling the DVDs for $100 on up on Amazon and eBay they'd realize people wanted to see them.
I guess they finally got their act together. Hub is also playing My Little Pony episodes and some other old cartoons I didn't catch because I was too busy squeeing over Jem.

Oh yeah Crazy bones....and H just corrected me via text message pogs not pongs. There were the little cardboard discs with different designs on them.

Yes!! I had a ton. I shudder to think about the amount of money spent on them. Slammers were expensive!

I love my little pony.....I have those DVDs as well. Actually old shows H and I have purchased on DVD (we say for our future kids but really its for us):
Original strawberry shortcake movies and episodes
Carebears first and second movie
My little pony movie and seasons 1 and 2
Rainbow Brite movie and TV seasons
GI Joe
Jem
Gummibears
I'm sure there are others that I'm not thinking of.
