[QUOTE]How about a random Ben story? We were in line paying for our dinner from Cracker Barrel last night and he was holding this m&m's thing that has a small fan on it. He told everyone in line that he was buying it to "blow mom's toots away".

[QUOTE]Sarah, Austin is truly an amazing place.  A friend just moved down there and saw a very interesting man downtown on her first day there. <strong> According to her, he was about 6'2", 250-ish pounds, had on a bright blonde wig that was past his shoulders, a t-shirt that he rolled up and pulled the end through the front (so it was a make-shift bikini), was wearing a black leather skirt, and had very hairy legs.  </strong>She didn't get to see what type of shoes he was wearing because the light turned green. Another random incident, I saw an old lady driving her scooter in the right lane of a major road in downtown Dallas one day.  I don't blame her though, the sidewalk was all torn up.  But geez, talk about waiting for an accident to happen.

<div>His name is Leslie. He has run for mayor more than once. Your friend was lucky, because he often wears only a women's thong and platform heels. </div><div>
</div><div>There is also another nakedish man that has been walking around lately. I saw him once early in the morning, jogging in a thong. It must have been as uncomfortable for him as it was for me. </div>

  • If you can stand another kid story:  I used to complain about the communion wine we had at church (it really wasn't very good).  When we were leaving one Sunday, stopping to shake Father Paul's hand and say hello, my daughter (age 7) pipes up and says to Fr Paul:  "You really should find a nice Merlot".  I thought I was going to hell right then and there.  Fortunately, Fr Paul thought it was funny.

  • I hate how I look in dresses too, steph - damn breastesses making me look like a bimbo.

The only dress I've ever been excited to wear is my wedding dress because it doesn't make me look like a complete hooker.

Jogging in a thong?  This should be illegal.  In all 50 states.  Actually, everywhere on Earth.

<div>THat is hilarious! Our church used grape juice. My friend and I always "helped" the elders clean up from communion by drinking all the leftover grape juice from the cups (individual cups). </div>

  • Picture time!

It seems like every dress out there these days go straight down from the boobs, which makes people with hips seem a lot bigger than they are. I actually have a figure in this one!
  • That's so cute, Katie! It looks so versatile, too. You could dress it up or down pretty easily.

  • Les, that is awesome. That's like a "if Bridget Jones had a kid" story.

Note to self: move to Austin. Sounds fun!

  • Lol yeah Austin certainly sounds like a riot - what with skateboarding 60 year olds and people jogging in g-strings.

Katie that dress is truly classy!  Love it!

That was my thought too. I could throw on a black cami and it would be work appropriate (on days when I don't have much running around to do and am more babysitter than computer tech).
  • I could wear that dress to work! I know what you mean about the new styles, they make me look pregnant. I like form-fitting dresses, not loose ones that make people wonder what I'm hiding under there.
  • I like form fitting dresses too, but they have to be cut and lay just right.  I'm packing a lot up top so I want to be kind of modest - but not so modest that I look like a grandma.  Those fun, loose fitting dresses that are so in style right now look HORRIBLE on me - like I draped a sheet over myself or something, or yeah - that I'm pregnant.

  • Katiewhompus, you look HOT in that dress!

Ben rocks. At least he said toots and not sharts. Although I guess it would be pretty hard to blow a shart away. Ben knows what's he's doing.

I just bought these on sale. They are going to be my tailgating shoes. 3 weeks til football season!

Exactly. I like the dress that I wore to my friend's wedding but it's more of a flowy dress and I would define it as a "sexy" dress.

Ok, I have to get something done today (other than shopping). I'll be back in a few hours :)

    COKristi, those are so cute!

And Austin is a pretty cool place. The city slogan is Keep Austin Weird, and no one slacks off in that department. After a while, though, you get used to it. I love this city, still.

  • I love that dress, Katie!
  • Thanks, I hope they fit! I ordered them online, but for $39.95 I couldn't say no. Fyi, www.6pm.com is an awesome website for sale shoes.

  • Love Katie's dress and Kristi's shoes!

My city of Louisville stole Austin's slogan. There are "Keep Louisville weird" billboards, shirts and stuff everywhere. Sorry about that, Sarah.

  • I'm an online shopping slut - EVERYTHING is online.

The beauty of it is if they don't fit, you can just send 'em back :)

And I will definitely be checking out that website...

  • Okay, one page in on that site and I'm in love.  LOVE.

[QUOTE]<strong>How about a random fact? Womens' brains are about 10% smaller than mens'. People once thought that the size of the brain indicated intelligence, but we now know this isn't true within a species. </strong>Another random fact: My neuro book is giving me an existential crisis. I don't think this is a normal reaction.

May I spin off a joke from this?

<div class="bodytext"> <p>A patient's family gathered to hear what the specialists had to say. "Things don't look good. The only chance is a brain transplant. This is an experimental procedure. It might work, but the bad news is that brains are very expensive, and you will have to pay the cost yourselves." </p> <p>"Well, how much does a brain cost?" asked the relatives. </p> <p>"For a male brain, $500,000. For a female brain, $200,000." </p> <p>Some of the younger male relatives tried to looked shocked, but all the men nodded because they thought they understood. A few actually smirked. But the patient's daughter was unsatisfied and asked, "Why the difference in price betweem male and female brains?" </p> <p>"A standard pricing practice." said the head of the team. "Women's brains have to be marked down because they have been used."</p> </div>

  • Kristi, I wonder how many people think your name is Katie? I would confuse myself too. Aaaaannnd I don't think you should leave to go be productive until I have to get back to work. Wink

Yes, 6pm is awesome! I think it's actually the Zappos outlet. I have gotten so many great deals there. One time all their rsvp brand shoes went on sale for $10. It was one of the best days of my life.

I love your brain joke too, M&R :)

  • Katie- *cat call*

Sarahplz- So do you guys also have like "known" homeless people? Our town has one homeless man who is schizophrenic. He is actually homeless by choice, and pushes around a make-shift house.

Les-That is epic! My priest is also a Fr. Paul, btw.
