Re: Tattoos.

  • If you have one:

What is it/are they of? 5 total, soon to be 7
1- Japanese kanji/tramp stamp that means purity.  Yes, ironic to have purity on my bikini area, I know but I was 16...
2- tribal/floral type design I drew that covers my whole lower back
3- the word "invictus" from the poem by the same name/latin for invincible on my left hip
4- the words "invincible summer" on my right hip from the saying by Camus "in the depths of winter I finally learned that there was, within me, an invincible summer"
5- sanskrit writing below my back tatoo that means "watched over" in honor of my stepdad who passed away
(6)- getting a custom made roman numeral/latin word tattoo with my MoH as her wedding gifts- they'll be on our achiles tendons
(7)- something on my should/back for FI once we get married... probably matching song lyrics

Why'd you get it/them? I love the look and the reminders of who I was/what was going on in my life at the times I got them.

What was the actual being tattoo'd experience like? fine.  I actually almost fell asleep during one of my hip ones....

Do you regret it? not at all. my first tramp stamp one is now all f-ed up from stretch marks from having my DD, but all the rest are just fine.

Any additional tattoo-related advice you have to give? They are addictive!  Enjoy!

My first is a phrase from lyrics on my side/lower hip.
Second is one of my dog's pawprints on my left shoulder blade.
Third is a rabbit on a crescent moon on my left side/hip.

    Where is it? see above

    Why'd you get it/them?

    Lyrics because I loved them.
Pawprint because my dogs are my life.
Rabbit because I raised them for 12 years and have a love of the moon.

What was the actual being tattoo'd experience like?

I liked it a lot. Only the third one hurt (since it was getting to the stomach/upper side area) a bit. I can't describe it but it's just..."neat."

    Do you regret it?

Not at all. In fact, I want more. I have plans for my other dog's pawprint on the other shoulder and then some things on my upper arms.

Any additional tattoo-related advice you have to give?

Think about it! Mine had years of consideration behind them and were also in places that wouldn't show (I'm not in a 'career' yet so I didn't want to have a disadvantage). And get something with meaning, not Taz on your tittay. Oh and RESEARCH YOUR ARTIST! Make sure they can, you know, draw. That's why so many people have terribly ugly (and regretable tattoos).

Also would like to add that FI is covered. Up and down his arms, a couple on his legs, plus stomach, chest, and back. I love it! Anyways, here is one of mine.

A Scorpio Constellation, and the Scorpio Zodiac Symbol.

    Where is it?
    On my Wrist.

    Why'd you get it/them?
Cuz I'm a Scorpio. Lol. Actually, because both FI and I are Scorpio's (his Birthday is the day before mine) and we wanted to do something together. I figured, I'll ALWAYS be a Scorpio, so it wouldn't be something I regret.

What was the actual being tattoo'd experience like?
It hurt a little, especially when she went over my veins, and when she was doing the outline the third time. Little circles actually hurt a lot more than you'd think.

    Do you regret it?
    Never.

Any additional tattoo-related advice you have to give?
Do something you'll always have a tie to. Children's names, or someting like that. Or something you know, you'll always have a love for. If you're a Chef, something to do with food, etc.

    ETA: Bonus for pics!
