Snarky Brides

So, who is ready for Friday?

This guy!

Damn, this week has gone by so slowly. I really wish I could just stay home today and do nothing. I'm really burnt out at work and grumpy.

Anyone have any grand plans for the weekend?

Re: So, who is ready for Friday?

  • I got suckered into working 4 hours today, boo. I stayed up too late and am paying for it now, but I had fun last night.

No grand plans. Tonight we might go to H's old college for a Fish & Wildlife event, they just opened up a new building and are celebrating. Sunday is our day to do whatever we want, but we might just stay home and hang out on the couch all day in our bathrobes. Sounds awesome.

  • That does sound awesome. I love those lazy days. I had all of these plans to just hang out with Ben all weekend (Matt is in Indiana for a Notre Dame game), but I just realized that I have to take him to a babyshower in Asheville tomorrow.
  • MEEEE! Happy Friday!

I'm sick and I feel like crap, but I'm trying to weather through work so I can come home and sleep it off.  Blegh.
  • Boo for being sick. That sucks. Is it a cold?
  • Yeah.  FI has been congested and runny all week (which naturally, to him, is the end of the world) and I think I have it.  Granted all of my students are sick, so I probably gave it to him.

Okay, off to germ central.  Have a great Friday!
  • Sick is no fun, nates. I just started taking Airborne when I could feel a cold coming on (stuffed up, sinus headache, sore throat), and it seems to have helped. Guess mom was right about that stuff after all. And it tastes good.

Cew, does Ben like baby showers? I remember being dragged to a few with my mom and was bored out of my mind. The only thing I enjoyed was running around trying to get people to say "baby" so I could take all their clothespins. You ever play that game? My 6 year-old self got a kick out of it.
  • Sorry you're sick Nates.

My exciting weekend plans involve napping and cat care. I will be happy not to be at work.
  • Happy Friday!  Work today, and I'm not looking forward to it.  Then this weekend we're completing some registry shopping, should be fun.  I like new stuff.

  • I'm so ready for this week to be over. Seriously.
  • Hey Nates...isn't it great being a teacher? Sigh, I am sick too. I don't know how sick I am though and I am going to a volleyball tournament later today where there will be thousands of kids from across the province. So this morning, after my (only) two parent teacher interviews) (we have the day off for these but I did my 25 other ones in the evenings) I am going to go to the doctor's and see what they say. If I have to stay home because I am contagious I think my co-coach might be really pissed. Thing is, I think I have a cold, not just a sore throat. Which kinda sucks because they will just tell me to drink lots of fluids and get rest. Bleh.

Other than that I am doing great! DH and I went to see Social Network last night and it was awesome. I really have no plans for the weekend because of the tournament but if I can't go I really hope DH will want to go and FINALLY use the rest of our wedding gift $$ to buy us a couple of new macbook pros...I can't wait to have a new compy!

haha OK.  I won't be around much today so I'll try to remember to check it tonight.
  • NOPE. My husbands stupid bitch boss keeps scheduling him to work on the weekends so I dont see him - he only gets it off if he books it off in advance. Her excuse: "I have a life too you know". Shes such a hag. So its just me and myself most of the weekend, though tomorrow I am getting my eyes checked for the first time in 10 years (I know I know) and my best friend is in town so we are hanging out sunday afternoon. Other than that though, lots of sleep and lots of beer.

[QUOTE]Morning! I am! Although, I am working at Open House tomorrow, so that kind of puts a kink in the weekend.  I have today off, so I plan on straightening up around here and watching a lot of daytime television!

And having a baby, right? Riiiiiiight?

I'm so ready for this to be Friday.  H worked 2 closing shifts this week so I'm beat.  I don't really have plans for the weekend, but I'm hoping to meet up with as friend for lunch Sunday but we'll have to see.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • This weekend FI and most of our friends here at grad school are going to grad school's homecoming. But myself and one of my best friends are going to our undergrad alma matter for their homecoming (we have lots of friends still there and one is on homecoming court). Its wierd - we were always too cool to go to homecoming while we were there but not that we're gone, we're all about it!

Hope you feel better soon Nates!

  • Yay for Friday!  Yesterday was such a slutty tease...  It was nice being off but now back to work for one more day.  I should have taken the day off ha.

I've had several people e-mail me about my centerpieces and other wedding decor so this weekend we have meetings with some of those people to hopefully sell those suckers!  Then going to the game tomorrow night woot woot!

Other than that, we're picking up Chris's new suit and the foundation kit for his shed.

Hope you all have a great day!

I got suckered into coming in to work today too (for multiple reasons: i.e. my counterpart is out today and they needed someone in a supervisorial position to hold down the fort, and I also didn't want to get charged vacation time for the weekend).

It's not too bad actually, everyone's still not used to me being here since I was deployed for so long and then took two weeks of vacation when I returned home to be with Will before he deploys again soon. Pretty lax day, might even get out early if I'm a lucky duck.

ETA: only plans for the weekend are dinner at this seafood place tonight. I'm craving crab.

  • Oh Em Gee, I am so effing ready for today,. I still have tons to do at work, with only a week and a half left, but that's ok because then its the wedding and Hawaii for 10 days. I'm keeping my eye on the prize now!

My friend came over for Girls/Grey's night last night and we made centerpieces.. you know, to keep us from crying over PP. We watched last weeks and this week's back to back and it was intense. But that's done, so one less thing for the weekend.

Tomorrow I have bootcamp, a nutrition seminar, an appt to pick up my dress, and a baby shower. i need to work on Sunday, but there will probably be football on the tube, so its ok. I still have to buy champagne flutes, teaspoons and something else I am forgetting for the wedding, and FI needs to get his shoes and go order the alcohol. Other than that we are pretty much done. YAY!

  • Yay Friday.

I think I'll be high today, since they cut, stretched and glued down the carpet beside my desk last night.  Holy glue fumes batman.

Wicked last night was amazing.  Loved it.  I bought the soundtrack off iTunes during intermission.  They wanted $25 for the CD, and it's only $10 on iTunes, so, um, iTunes.

We don't have many plans for the weekend.  I think we'll be going shopping for hardwood flooring and raking the leaves.  Hopefully we can get my friends friend the gas guy over to quote on a new gas fireplace.

Sarah, PP is the only show that can make both H and I cry every. time.  We haven't watched anything from last night yet though, but we did see last weeks!

  • I'm so glad the weekend is nearly here. This week has been a bitch. I get to go to the COLTS game this weekend with my mom. We are leaving early tomorrow and going to a casino on the way down, then staying overnight in Indy. And having lunch Sunday and Harry & Izzy's, which is nomnom good.
  • Raynes, did you hear that when they did Charlotte's makeup that they didn't let any of the rest of the cast see her until it was their turn to do their scene with her? That's why the reactions are so real. It is rumored that they did Coop's in one take. So when he turned around in that room, that was all pure reaction. I think its sort of neat.

  • Morning! I too am patiently awaiting the arrival of Mag's bebeh.

And I am so ready for it to be Friday. I'm exhausted. My days at work are starting to feel like 10-hour days, which they are, but they didn't used to feel like it. I suppose it comes with the honeymoon phase being over and all, and the stupid short days! I look outside at 5 and see it's already dark, and it just makes me automatically want to go home. Ugh.

I love that show.  This season has been much better than last season.  Last season kinda fizzled a bit.

That is awesome.  God that episode was so incredibly sad and emotional.  I haven't watched last night's though - will on my lunch break today.

  • Yesterday's is emotional too. Last week my friends and I made a pact that none of us would watch it alone. We've been watching PP and Greys together since they started and it sucked that people had to work/travel so we couldn't be together last Thursday. Yesterday one friend and I decided we'd better watch it so we didn't get too far behind, but we still watched it together. It was so intense.

  • I am so excited for this weekend! A bunch of us are renting a house in the Catskills for the weekend for some drunken debauchery. It is going to be such a great group too. You know when you are meet people after a few drinks and you start saying stuff like "We should open a bar together!" or "We should totally rent a house and go on vacation together!"? Well, we are doing it. A bunch of my friends from all these different parts of my life (work, college, growing up, the Cape) met at the wedding and really hit it off. So 13 of us have this huge house in upstate NY for the weekend.

It is either going to wind up like The Shining, Animal House or Clue. Or maybe a mixture of all three. We are hoping people don't start disappearing.
