Christmas pictures

I think today should officially be SB Christmas day. I can't wait until Christmas this year because we finally have our house! We were so set on being in a house last Christmas that we pretty much have been planning for over a year now and it's going to be so much fun.

AW any Christmas pictures you have. Trees, snow, etc.

So this is my only Christmas picture, but you can kind of see the tree :)

Snowmagedon, a late Christmas present for us.

    YES!

Well I have them in the other thread, but I'll see what others I can find...

This was the view from my campus apartment one year in college... That's an exit ramp from I-94, and if you look really hard, you can see the Minneapolis skyline.

Not Christmas, but this is FI and I at the St Paul Winter Carnival one year :)

aaand totally anti-snow, but this was me and my siblings on Christmas Day a few years ago (on vacation in Mexico)

I love these :) One Christmas tradition we're definitely doing when we have kids is Santa coming. When I was little Grandpa would always "forget something at the store" and have to go get it. About 30 minutes later we would start to hear sleigh bells circling the house and "Whoa Dasher, easy now". Sure enough Santa would come through the door to ask for directions and happen to have a big bag of toys! Unfortunately Santa forgot to take off his watch one year and little Kristi had to be all observant and point out that Santa was really Grandpa. I loved it though :)

I wish I had pictures of my parent's house for Christmas. Dad goes really over the top. I just have Halloween ones from last year.

If we had kids we'd do the same thing, Katie. Santa was a huge part of every year when we went to my grandparents'. they went all out. We'd read The Night before Christmas, then the lights would go out and there would be bells jngling and thumping on the roof, then Santa would come in and my grandma would fix him a glass of OJ. He always had the one present we really, really wanted. And he said he shrunk the reindeer so he could fit them in his pocket when he was inside.

Years later, I learned Santa was an old family friend who made the rounds on Christmas Eve to other houses, and we were his last stop. And the OJ had alcohol in it, which was why he always flirted with my aunt by the end of the night.

Thanks, Cew. One year Santa couldn't make it and there was a bunch of "reindeer dust" on the front porch with our presents. He is the reason why I believed for so long.

Santa was a guest at our wedding. I've pretty much known him my entire life.

    Thanks Katie.  : )

I have a somewaht funny Christmas story or at least it's funny looking back on it.

I believe i was about 8 and my sister was 3. We were in my Mom's room watching The Little Mermaid and throwing a ball around the room. The ball ended up rolling under the bed and I went to go get it. I was confronted with a bunch of wrapped Christmas presents and it was then that I was sure that there was no such thing as Santa (I had had my doubts before this).

I walked out into the living room and asked my Mom about all the presents and I just remember the look on her face was horrific. She realized what I knew and made me promise not to tell my sister. I will never forget that moment because I suddenly knew that the Easter bunny and Tooth Fairy were frauds!

I did that once. Mom said that Santa was overloaded with presents that year and asked if she could store some to lighten his load. I half way believed her then we put them all under the tree together Christmas Eve. Christmas day there were more present, and a note from Santa thanking my mom for her help. She's a sneaky one.

Oh, and I'm stealing a tradition from sil too. Every Christmas Eve Z writes her note to Santa, then leaves a plate of cookies and a glass of milk for Santa, and 3 carrots (the kind with tops) for his reindeer. Low and behold Christmas morning there are only cookie crumbs, an empty milk glass and carrot tops.

Leaving cookies and milk out for Santa is a must, Katie. We never did carrots. Apparently we didn't care much for the reindeer, just the guy leaving us presents.

My sister (when she was 4) decided that santa must get terribly tired of just milk and cookies.  She insisted on leaving a coke for santa.  She figured it would help clean the gunky feeling out of his throat from too much dairy.

This is our pathetic and fake little Charlie Brown tree. We had it from our old apartment and when me moved into our new place last december it came in handy. It's small and kind of sad looking but it's ours. Between how messy real trees can be and our cat who likes mess with them, the fake trees are good for us.
