Re: Food

  • FI made some sort of Romanian sweet macaroni & cheese thing for me once, and it rocked. He can follow directions but doesn't know a lot of the techniques. I had to teach him how to brew his own coffee today (one cup filter thingy). Before he met me he ate lots of tuna.

  • I really want to be able to cook better. I hate the fact that I can't cook. One of the things that got me down so much this summer was that Scott would still come home from working 12 hours and would make dinner. I've tried a bunch of times but just can never get things right and we would end up ordering pizza.

I also think we have different food tastes which doesn't help. I love creamy pasta dishes (stroganoffs for example) while he only likes tomato bases (which I don't enjoy as much).
  • I'm late... but Nebb, do you mind sharing the cheese bread recipe??
  • I'd love to go to culinary school.  But I think it'd be too intense for me.  I think I'd hate to work in a restaurant.
  • Hey Steph- My friend and I were splitting a CSA box this summer, and there was all kinds of stuff in there. It really made us stretch to cook it all. One week it was all greens (collards, dandilion, mustard, etc). We had to find all kinds of recipes, and allrecipes.com was key.

If you do a CSA, you might want to split with another couple. You get a LOT in those boxes, usually.

  • Sarah- yeah. One we found offered like a half-box option, but we'd probably split it otherwise...

I tried copying and pasting and it did NOT work... if you download the instruction booklet (<a href="http://www.cuisinart.ca/cuisinart_product.php?item_id=11&product_id=8&cat_id=24" rel="nofollow">http://www.cuisinart.ca/cuisinart_product.php?item_id=11&product_id=8&cat_id=24</a>) for the cuisinart CBK-200C bread mixer the recipe is on page 33, three cheese bread (I lied, apparently).
