Re: Say Anything Wednesday

I can't remember the last time it was late July, nearly August that it wasn't 100+ degrees out.  This is great!  But the only downside is that this muggy weather makes it hard to breathe outside.

I love Martha Steward DIY stuff. She is amazing. I get so excited about my wedding everytime I look at her stuff.

I was really nervous about negotiating with our number one choice hotel, but they came down in price with just a little nudge from us.  I'm excited about their complimentary evening wine reception and pet friendly policies!

I know how you feel Lindsay...it sucks. I really need to do something about it, but I really want to take my vacation this year too!!! lol

I understand Kris!  I am trying to make it at least through the wedding here.

Lindsay, that's exactly how I've been feeling for the past 2 years here at my job.  :(   If the job market weren't so horrible and we weren't trying to buy a house soon I'd have found something else.

We're only going to get to run through the show ONCE before we have an audience.  Last night our DJ/Music Director missed a major music cue in the Finale.  Dead silence onstage for a full minute.  I was SOOOOOO angry.  After rehearsal he asked me "are you ready to sing acapella if that happens again?"  I said "Um, no.  Are you ready to hire an assistant so you stop missing cues?"  !#$!#%!#$!#$!#$!
  • edited December 2011
I'm glad I'm not alone Mariah - I guess it's the economy and no one wants to cause any issues or anything and we're certainly not doing any hiring so being an HR person right now means a whole lot of nothing!!!

Lindsay, that was my plan too, but I don't think that I can make it another year! I think I'll start really looking at the end of this year, even if it means I'll have to postpone my honeymoon.

I said "Um, no. Are you ready to hire an assistant so you stop missing cues?" I love you for this.  You are my hero.

We are eating the top of our wedding cake tonight (ok probably just a bite, because I can't imagine it tastes good). Our anniversary in Sunday, but we will be in wine country so we are having it tonight. I am going to make a nice dinner, so at least something tastes good. My injured toe has really hurt my yoga practice. I want sushi for lunch today, any knotties in the frisco area want to join?

I wish I could get sushi! I've been craving it for a few weeks now!  Have fun in wine country, Shanda!  It's so beautiful there.  You'll want to stay.

Shanda - are you guys going to be in San Fran at all while you're out there?  If so, I suggest doing the bike rental on the pier 21 and riding accross the Golden Gate and through Saucileto (sp?).  It's the coolest little city.  We stopped for fish and chips at a little shop by the Marina.  The best part is you get to ride the ferry back!!
  • edited December 2011
Ahh, Saucalito is beautiful!  We ate at a restaurant there while we stayed in Mill Valley.  ::sigh:: I just want to go back.  You'll love the weather, too.  It will be warm during the day and then get chilly at night.

We are flying into San Francisco, and staying in Sonoma Valley and we haven't decided everything that we are doing, so I am sure we will hit San Francisco for a day or two. The bike ride sounds fun, we will have to check it out! Thanks for the suggestion! Any other suggestions, send them my way, my email is Shandars at gmail dot com

Texas Workforce is finally going to  make my former employer pay me (my first half) for the month of November that I worked with no pay. I worked a MONTH on CRUNCH with no pay. Talk about getting screwed over. I hope the process is quick and I can get my money and wash my hands of that damn company!

We are going to San Francisco for 4 days and staying at this AWESOME inn in Sausalito for 2 days in September.  It is built out over the water.   I can't wait!!  45 more days :)

Has anybody heard about the indoor ski resort they are suppose to building in Grapevine? I am super excited because maybe just maybe during the summer, texans will have some where to go to get away from the heat. I can't stand summer!!

I'm kind of in a funk right now : ( Yesterday was one of those days where a lot of things happened and I wanted to tell someone about it... and I realized that beyond my mom and Steven there wasn't really anyone that I'd feel comfortable just calling up to chat about my day anymore.  We've been out here for over a year and things are going well, but I still don't really feel like I've made very many friends and I feel like I'm grown away from my friends back home. No one is helping me with wedding stuff and I just don't feel like anyone is the least bit excited about my wedding, which is making me lose interest and wonder if we should have just gone to the JOP like Steven wanted. Just makes me feel really blah.

SC Bride-   have you considered doing volunteer work or joining and getting involved in a church community?    It is a great way to meet new friends while doing good things for the community.

Amber- I heard about the indoor snow thing years ago...I figured it would have been built by now!!I'm at that point with allergies where I can open the front door and I feel like I've been hit over the head with a frying pan...I hate these days.

Tiffany618 - I'm actually suppose to start volunteering with a ranch that does horse assited therapy, but I've been sooo busy at work lately that I just haven't had the time to get everything set up.

Alyssa- I feel the same way and all my family and friends are right here with me... Well, my MOH is awesome and she's been excited the whole time but she also has her first baby due a month before the wedding so she has been understandably preoccupied. My eye is still red so I wore my glasses today which I NEVER do and now I remember why. I lose my peripherals. Never know how important those are until you don't have them.
