Hi beautiful! I miss you too! Work has been busy for me this week and I've been totally brain wasted when I get home. My funny has been broken lately. Other than that, things are great with me. I'm just sitting here watching big brother and chatting online with hot babes. What else could a girl ask for?

We had family game night tonight. It was awesome. I love my dudes. Is it weird that Matt and I were really proud of Ben's Super Mario skills? We were impressed with our boy. I just got Ben settled in bed and Matt is watching the fooseball downstairs in the basement. Fun times!

Nothing much is new with me, I'm just researching honeymoon stuff and looking for wedding jewelry ideas   Look at me, all wedding planningy and stuff.

Not as much resume reading this week. I'm trying to start this new recruiting thing that involves social media and I've been doing tons of research and trying get our program up and running. It's been interesting. Aaaaaannnnnnd people can't stop fucking up at work, so I've been dropping the hammer a bit too.

Are you close to finding a HM? What kind of jewelry are you looking for?

That actually sounds kind of cool!  I mean, I'm sure it's a ton of work and research, but is it nice to do something a little different?  That sucks that people are dropping the ball.  Kick them!

Yeah, we're pretty settled on what we're doing for our HM.  We won't be able to do the whole 101 like we wanted (we just won't have time) so we're going to split it up.  This year we'll fly into Seattle and drive down to San Francisco, spending a couple days in each, and stopping a few places along the way.  Next year for our anniversary we'll do SF to San Diego. 

I'm thinking pearls because there is some sparkly beading along the neckline of the dress and the straps have rhinestones on them.  I know I don't really need a necklace, but I'd like one.  My dad makes jewelry as a hobby (like nice stuff with precious and semi precious stones and gold) so he offered to do my jewerly.  He's really good.  I'm thinking just a pretty, simple pearl drop pendant or lariat type necklace and drop earrings to match.

The social media recruiting is very interesting. We've been under a hiring freeze for 3 years, so now that we have a ton of positions, it's like we are in the stone age compared to the rest of the world in terms of how they recruit. I'm really loving LinkedIn lately. And it's nice to create an online 'persona' that isn't a 13 year old turd (like what I have going on with TK).

Oh wow. That HM sounds so awesome. I would absolutely love to do a road trip. I've always wanted to go across the country using only backroads. What an awesome way to spend time with K! I love it. Have you ever been to Seattle or SF?

Wow, three years is a really long hiring freeze!  Around here, I've seen a lot of places hiring specifically for social media recruitment type positions.   I think it's really interesting.  How did people get jobs in the days before the internet?

I've been to SF once for 2 days.  He's never been.  Neither of us have been anywhere else on the west coast.  We love to just go out and go for drives and stuff so we figured it would be perfect for us! 

Pearls are a new love of mine (funny, considering they'r emy birthstone!).  Yeah, he's been doing it for about 6 years now, I think.  I've got some really cool earrings he's made and a couple necklaces.  He felt a little left out when my mom and I went dress shopping (not that he wanted to go, but he hasn't gotten to do much wedding stuff and he does want to help) so he's like well what can I do?  Can I do your jewelry?  And I was like uhhhh heck yeah!

I'd love to be able to do something cool like that and I've though about it, but I feel like I wouldn't really follow through.  I don't know how he finds the time and energy to do it, and it's not really a cheap hobby either (though cheaper than buying the stuff at a jewerly store).  Maybe some day after my life settles down, because I really do think it's cool.

I would love to have the creativity to do something like that. I used to work with a girl that makes jewelry and she made some really cool things. I would just never know how to put things together. I know it would end up looking like a 3rd grade Christmas ornament.

My sister makes some of the coolest jewelry ever.  She even collects a lot of the gems/stones/whatever she uses in what she makes.  I envy her ability.

My dad saw some Discovery Channel show about it and had picked up some garnet while hiking in the Adirondacks.  He decided to buy some books and a little bit of the equipment to learn how to do it.  My sister got into it so while she was in college she took some courses.  She's really talented.  I'll ask her for some pictures of some of her pieces.
