You know what we really need around here, IMO?  Some really good, original trolls.  That aren't mean and nasty.

Well, I have stupid applicants who say "well, I have a dog and a cat and I live with my boyfriend and my mom is 40..." and ramble.  Which is obviously what you shouldn't say on an interview.  I tell them to start with most recent work history first, talk about education and qualifications and try to express the qualities that you can't put on a resume.  Basically a lot of bullshit.

It's actually a horrible question. Sorry, Ash. It just opens up the possibility of the candidate sharing so much inappropriate info because then usually start in with "well, I'm a 27 year old mother of 3 just getting back into the swing of things".

If you are asked, you should answer with a brief  15 - 30 second commercial that will tell the person about your professional / educational background, why you are interested in the job and what you can bring to the table.

A friend of my sister's got engaged last year at midnight on New Year's Eve, and the wedding is this coming New Year's Day.  The funniest shiit to me is that my sister says this chick had her entire wedding planned within the first two weeks of her engagement and has been basically sitting around for a year in between Catholic counseling sessions.

I did. I'm telling you, I've been "around" forever. I probably only lurked for a couple of months at first, I wasn't even engaged. I was getting ideas for my now SIL who got married in 2008, then when I got engaged in late 2009, I started lurking again.
