Tell me about 2 year olds.

Re: Tell me about 2 year olds.

  • I bit my mom once when I was 3 or 4.  I did not ever bite anyone again.  Biggest mistake ever.

    As a mother of two 3 -year-olds...who were at one point 2....yes this is fairly accurate.

    You've heard of terrible two's right? Yeah...they're pretty terrible.

    THIS. And he's sitting on my lap right now smearing chocolate Teddy Graham remnants on me as I try to type.

    ETA: On a serious note; he can count to 6 on his own, knows his name and has a pretty good vocabulary. He can put some decent little sentences together, but it's hard for a non-parent to understand much of it. By this age, they should definitely be able to respond to their name and follow basic 2 to 3 part instructions.
  • I can tell you from my experience, and I've got two boys, 5 and 3, that:
    - a lot depends on character - some children simply are more lively than others, and at the age of two they don't know how to control their emotions, so they do what they think;
    - at this time of his life, a child is going through a rebel phase, he's learning about the boundaries and limits of how far can he go. He think's he's big enough to decide about himself and wants to discover the world on his own terms. It's a normal, though difficult phase which lasts usually a few months, when you need to set the rules with a child, it will pass.
    Hope I've helped :)
