Snarky Brides

T.G.I.F.

Morning everyone!  Anything exciting going on today? This weekend?

I've got my second (last) shower this weekend, and I'm excited to see everyone.  The rain here has finally stopped for now, but it's realllly chilly outside.  I love it.

  • Yay for Friday! And double yay for showers! My week has sucked too. I don't really have high hopes for my weekend either. Just call me Debbie Downer.

  • Im fucking exhausted, I very stupidly allowed myself to be talked into staying up to watch Craig Furguson - partly because he is hilarious, and partlybecause my beloved was on. Bad idea. I didnt get to bed until 1:30 and i feel like a bag of death right now.

Upside: I got paid from the new job today. Ho-lee-crap. I love money.

Sidenote: I kept bugging my old boss yesterday and he finally responded to me with "ill contact you next week" ummmmm no, so I asked him if he thought that was an acceptable response to my requestion and asked why I had to wait so long for payment on work I had completed weeks ago. He basically responded (paraphrasing) that its my own fault I havnt gotten paid because he has been cleaning up the mess I left by quitting with no notice. I told him (not in so many words) to quit the bullshit and that its his responsibility as an employer to pay me in a certain time period.

Im contacting him again monday. If he doesnt tell me "your cheque is in the mail", I am filing a claim with the labour board and including every tidbit of information I can think of regarding his bad practices as well as looking into taking him to small claims court. Its really just the principle of the mater.
  • Thank God it is Friday...this week has been exhausting.

Today is payday. This is a big deal because FI is full time this year. And we both got raises. So we really had no idea how much money we were going to be bringing in. We both got paid today and I JUST finished doing all the math and paying bills AND *drum roll please*...we have enough money for the remaining wedding costs. I knew we would, I just didn't know how much leeway we would have. We have enough that I don't need to eat KD this month! I feel so much better knowing that we have enough. All our credit cards have been paid for the month and we are in the black!  (I think our CC companies must hate us since we never pay interest).

Also, tomorrow is my bachelorette (and FIs bachelor).  So excited. I have no idea what I am doing. I know the guys are playing 9 holes of golf, then going painballing, then having dinner, then going to bar...apparently FIs best woman took all his ideas and combined them into one day's worth of activities!  All I know is that mine will be much more low key.

Now I have to go to work. For real, since usually I would have left an hour ago...!
  • Morning.  It really has been a hellish week.  I'm so glad it's almost the weekend.  I have a save Betrothed from the brink of going postal meeting this morning :D  Hopefully this works out in the way I want it to.

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. • Good Morning, Ladies!  We got new phones yesterday - BOGO on the Vibrant Galaxy.  I've never had the internet on my phone before, so we stayed up late playing with them and downloading apps.  I can get all my Kindle content on the phone too, and it came loaded with Avatar (which I haven't seen yet).  And, when I figure out how to do it, I can Knot on it too.

    Happy Friday, everyone!

I'll support that cause. Good luck at your meeting!

I'm only here for a second. I'm very tired and have probably one of the most challenging new cases coming in today for an initial assessment. I'm steeling myself over here.

On the plus side, this weekend I'm either going apple-picking or to something called the "What the Fluff" festival, which is an annual event celebrating the birthday of Fluff. I just feel like you can't be indifferent at a thing like that. :)

Beatles- Would you like to donate to the cause?  You can make checks payable to cash ;)  Good luck with your new client, and I'm totally jealous of both apple picking and a fluff birthday celebration

  • B, the last time I "donated to the cause" I never got my official Save B's Sanity tote OR free knife set. Don't make me fear the worst about the knives. I know how ball-stabbing is one of your coping mechanisms at work.

There's some crusty reddish-brown stuff stuck in the engraving, but I'll send the knife set out to you tonight.

  • Morning!

numbers, KD is awesome, so you should still eat it.  I think I'll have to pick some up for Sunday.

I'm going to my friends bachelorette tomorrow at a swanky club in Toronto.  I'm so very over the club scene, but the group of girls should make it fun.

<div>you eat KD? I personally LOVE the stuff but FI hates it. It isn't horribly good for me (or rather, the fact that I can eat about three quarters of a box) so I try to avoid it.</div><div>
</div><div>When I lived alone for 3 years and didn't care about my weight I had a fairly unhealthy diet that consisted of:</div><div>
</div><div>- wonderbread with nutella</div><div>- KD</div><div>- White Cheddar KD with broccoli (this was my healthy food)</div><div>- Rigatoni noodles with spicy italian sausage and ketchup</div><div>- pierogies with sauteed bacon and onions and sour cream</div><div>
</div><div>Now, in hindsight, it really isn't all that surprising that I topped out at 196lbs!  I also rarely eat any of those foods anymore. </div>
  • There is no way Kraft Dinner is Canadian right? Please tell me you guys have it down south...
  • Oh OKAY! Yummy with extra cheese.
    image
  • Yes we have it. I only buy it once a year though.
    image
  • yes, very yummy with extra cheese. I like mine very thick so I use more margarine and less milk. Crap...now I want some...
  • They call it Kraft Macaroni and Cheese down there in that weird country.

I have such a love for KD.  It's like home.  I get the extra creamy stuff now.  Yumm.

DH wants to get all the painting done outside before it gets cold out. But I just want to do something fun this weekend. Maybe I can bribe him.

  • Urgh. Saturday is my Friday. I'm pretty sure Monday is still my Monday too. I want to sleep in so badly.
  • Good morning - I'm still feeling super crappy, but it's J's birthday today and our anniversary, so we're going to MSP this weekend to celebrate - I get to meet J&K!

And, since I shared this on E, I'll share it here- my very first dozen roses. My husband is the bomb:

  • Kraft Dinner makes me think of the BNL "If I had a Million Dollars" song.  So now that's stuck in my head, thanks.

We went shopping last night and scored FI some new clothes for the honeymoon.  $5 for Nautica swim trunks at the local department store, it was awesome.

I'm glad it's Friday, this week has been long.  Tomorrow we have about 15 things to do, so it's not going to be very restful.
