Evening Thread

So (knocks on wood) I think TK is fixed now?  Hopefully for awhile at least!

What is everyone up to tonight?  I'm still at work.  I hate long days.  Thankfully tomorrow will be a short one, plus we are going to have a pig-out in honor of my birthday so we'll have the phones shut off for a half hour too so we can all eat and chat.  FI is finaly done hunting for the season.  He didn't get anything this time around unfortunately, but I'm glad to finally see him tonight.

Hi. I'm leaving for work in 20 minutes and I think I finally caught the 5 minute flu that's going around from A. I want to vomit. I'll be around tonight since I'm at work.
  • Options
Can you call in sick? I wouldn't want to work with the flu. not to mention you're probably contagious?
  • Options
    Hi.
I woke up sick today, so I was in bed until like 1pm.
It's 4 now, and still 80* outside. I want winter!

I'm feeling queasy tonight. I guess I'm still sick so, blah.

Work tomorrow will suck because I'll be doing QC. I used to love QC but with all the new people, it's kind of miserable because no one can follow the rules. I sent feedback to the supervisor that was a bit snarky about how apparently his 557 emails about what not to do weren't enough, so maybe he needed to tell them again on this one issue...then he forwarded it to everyone as an "FYI-stop doing this"

    80*?  holy crap.
Eeek CCF feel better! I feel like everyone's getting sick.

    I'm guessing quality control.

Edie - I know! But still. If it's 80* I want to be in the pool. Which is currently freezing, because it's 30* at night. California, as much as I love it, needs to get it together and give me some winter-ish (even fall-ish) weather. haha

The friggin owner's wife at work got me sick. She doesn't DO anything at work but she keeps coming in despite being sick, and now my manager and I are both sick. So now I'm going to be sick on our anniversary and I can't call out of work because it's my last 2 weeks and I need to train my replacement. I'm pissed.

I couldn't get a hold of anyone to cover my shift until 2 minutes ago. If she hadn't been able to, I would have had to go in.

I got an internship at a local museum working in the archives. It's unpaid, but I need to complete an internship to graduate this semester and it goes with my major. I'm excited.

I made it through the Christmas rush at work! It's our first slow day in about a month, still catching up on some things but not nearly as crazy thank goodness.

Argh, sara, we have just had a bucket of rain and crazy wind up here. Last night I tried to wear a flowy, short dress and it was quite comical in the wind. Not as graceful as Marylin Monroe at all.

We had some wild wind a few weeks ago. Not much rain though, which is pretty typical.
    Short dresses+wind=disaster. haha

I don't think I've ever posted on this board, so hello everyone, nice to meet you!
I got home from work around 6, and FI is flying his last route of a two-day trip so he should be home from the airport by 8:30ish.  We'll have a late dinner, probably leftover chili.  I'm in need of some relaxation... I've had a heck of a day dealing with pushy parents hijacking the wedding planning and we all really need to sit down together and get things straight.
