Snarky Brides

Tell me what is frustrating you right now....

Our reply date was June 24th, I still have people who haven't RSVPd.  I've called and left messages, except for a couple that is my parents friends.  I don't have their phone number and my parents dont' get back from vacation until July 5th.  Numbers are due to the caterer tomorrow.

My wonderful FI is still inviting people to the wedding.  Yes, just yesterday he came home and told me he invited four more people from work.  This wouldn't be so bad, but my numbers are due to the caterer tomorrow, with meal selections, which of course I don't have for the four extra people.  We wanted no more than 50 guests and we are already at 60.

These are not big things, I know.  Just little frustrating things.  I had a talk with FI last night about why it is rude to be inviting this late.

What is frustrating you right now?  Wedding related or not.

lack of beer in my system, I had 2 big glasses at lunch and it was so packed down at the beach (where the pub was) that it has worn off now that im home.
  • My co-worker is not abiding by the "You must be 18 years old to win station contests" rule, because he is a 22 year old guy and it gives him an ego boost to have 15, 16, 17 year old girls as his fans.

    Ugh.

I once over heard a 50 something man at a bar tell another 50 something man that he wanted to die in the arms of a 16 year old girl.  It took lots of self control not to say anything, but getting in arguments with random drunk men really isn't me.

  • I am  frustrated because we are still getting everyones address together so we  can send out the STDs . It's taking longer then I expected . Thank God I aloud for extra time .

I am also frustrated because our weekends are way to busy .

  • I'm frustrated by working two jobs and not having two days off in a row, unless it's a holiday.

I'm frustrated that I have to try to do everything when FI is OOT working, but am truly blessed that he helps so much when he's here.

I'm also frustrated that I'm feeling frustrated all the time. I know it's redundant, but it's a sick cycle that I feel I should be handling better.

But I'm happy to have TK to entertain me while I've got down time at work.
Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"? "Empire". Blasphemy. "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
  • I had that talk with H during the planning process too. He thought we could invite any and everyone he worked with or saw on a regular basis until I sat him down and showed him the guest list. I was kind of a bitch about it at the end and told him that if his friends don't RSVP (we gave 2 extra weeks and people still didn't respond) then they aren't coming, because we had to get the food and order the cake.

The only thing frustrating me is money. As in, not having any. I swear every time we get some savings we have a medical issue, car breaks down, have to buy something for the house. So frustrating.
  • Frustrated with my job....its boring, and makes for long days...but I make good money for what I do.  I would like to get another job, but I can't find anything that will pay me as well without a college degree.

Frustrated with my weight....I eat right & work out, I don't understand why I can't keep it off.  I haven't had to change sizes, but I just don't like how my body looks.  DH tells me I am crazy & I love him for that.
  • I desperately need new contacts. Everything is blurry and it's giving me a wicked headache. But I don't have vision insurance right now. Stupid insurance.

Me too. I've been unemployed since Oct and have only had 2 face-to-face interviews (and a handful of phone interviews). I am a big, fat, jobless loser. I really want the job I interviewed for on Tuesday but none of my references have been contacted. Go me. Loser. Table for one.

FWIW, none of my references were contacted for my job. H's weren't either for his job with the state. So don't give up hope, you never know!

Thanks, Seshat. That does make me feel a little bit better. I was at my last job for 8+ years right out of college and I got it because I knew people. So I've never really experienced the job-hunt process. Every job I applied for I always got. Now at 31, and jobless for almost a year, my self-esteem is in the crapper.

  • I'm frustrated because I just found out my dad and his GF haven't made more than a $50 payment on my reception hall.  Granted they still have 8 months to pay it off, she told me they sent a couple payments in already and when I called today it was only one for $50...barely a dent there!

I'm frustrated that I started using a new cleanser and my face is breaking out...Ugh!  Not cool!  I feel like a 12 yr old again.

  • My frustrations are the same as they've been for months. I hate my job and I need my house to sell. One is the key to the other, so my biggest frustration is selling my house. But you guys have to be sick of hearing about it, so I keep it to myself. Except in Frustration Threads. :)
  • I'm frustrated because I'm distracted by wedding crap and it's kinda interfering with my work.  Today I drove all the way across town only to discover that I forgot to put my recorder into my gear bag, so I couldn't sit through the press conference or do any "on-tape" interviews.  I had to give people my business card and tell them to call me afterward.  I had replaced the batteries in the thing shortly before I left, so that's why I must have indavertently left it out.

Ugh.  I wish the day was over, really.  I need a beer or seven.

The $50 thing would really freak me out . I mean she says they made a few payments and they didn't . Now if she never said that and you called and they said $50 then I would be less worried because they have 8 Months . But basically she kind of lied .  I would start putting a little extra in the bank every month to just make sure you cover yourself just incase they don't pay for the venue .

  • I'm frustrated because yesterday the cast had to be put on with my ankle at 90 degrees, but it was splinted after the surgery at 120 degrees. It had almost stopped hurting to the point where I was going to stop taking the pain pills. But now... ugh. Getting it into the right position hurt as bad as the original accident with all the broken bones and everything, and I'm right back on the pain pills. I'm also frustrated that it's been another two weeks on the couch, with my leg in the air, and my butt is starting to hurt. Stupid, I know, but annoying none-the-less.

I'm also a teeny bit frustrated that people came to visit in during the first few days when I was drifting in and out and just wanted to sleep. But now, when I'm alert and bored, nothing. I am thankful that they visited, but just kind of wished they'd timed it a bit better.

  • sco, I'm sorry - I know that's frustrating. FWIW, my references weren't checked until I was offered my job here.

I'm frustrated with the mess our bedroom is in. We're both kind of messy, and neither one of us likes to clean all that much, and when I do it, I get sort of resentful about it. Especially when I put away laundry.

But, on the bright side, he does 95% of the laundry, so I don't have to carry it down 2 flights of stairs to our basement.

I also HATE the bed we sleep in. I refuse to call it our bed. We're trying to save up to get a new one, but I can't take it much more (we've got enough for one without a pillowtop, but I'm thinking we should get the pillowtop instead of adding something to it - we're getting a sleep number bed).
