My brother and I have the kind of relationship where I'd tell him, "host your own damn party." And yeah, I'd be mad too. Hell, I get kind of mad when people say, "hey! come meet me at X bar for happy hour for my brithday! The drink specials are rad!" Well, unless yo're my BFF or you're buying, I'll decide where I want to spend happy hour and my own money, thanks.

I'm pretty late to this but I feel the need to clarify:  "called and whined to my mom" in this case meant "called my mom and asked her if she was feeling better, talked about our plans for Halloween and asked if she got the email, to which she said no and I said it was pretty ridiculous" not "called and said please fix my problems and kiss my boo boos."
