[QUOTE]In Response to Re: good morning...is it Friday yet? : I feel that way too, completely alone here. My closest friend in Jax just moved to Georgia and my best friend, who never lived here in the first place, has decided for some reason she doesn't feel like returning my phone calls. And H works all day, every day. But I can't get him to go shopping with me. He gets so crabby that it's not worth it. Not that I'm a joy to shop with either, <strong>just walking into the mall gives me a headache (literally, I think it's the harsh lighting).

Well then I'd be in trouble, I work in the mall management office.HA!

Yeah all my friends and family live in my hometown. And DH is used to living away from home. He's not one for staying in one place to long. So I imagine this isnt the only time I may have to go through this.
I am lucky though he likes shopping, just not with me.

  • Morning.

I was at a conference all day yesterday which was ok.  I got a free lunch and got to play with some really neat software, so that was good.

I'm sorry you're feeling down Bec.  Talk to us here.  We can help.

We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?

  • Aww, hang in there, Bec.  It will get better.

Mara - Golden is just an hour from here - we can have a gtg w/ COKristi.  Good luck on selling your house.

I remember moving away for the first time, to a city where I knew no one.  I called my Dad and cried - I hated it there and was so lonely.

  • Thanks so much for the support, guys! I love you. I'm fine, just feeling a little down. Once I get this project finished I can get back to housework and I'll be too busy to be lonely. It's just when I sit still at the computer I feel how empty the house is and how I don't know anyone. It will pass! I'm just a social creature and I feel like I'm in a cage. LOL
  • I can loan Max to you. Trust me - he's ALL SORTS of entertaining.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • Oh no, Missy. I'm good, thanks! :) I like my frogs in their little tank. We sometimes talk about their rocks and tiny houses and stuff. That's about all the animal interaction I can handle in my house at this time.
  • Well, you can't be a Stepford wife without a designer dog.  You know, bridesmaidzilla lives near you.  She has an $8,000 hypoalergenic dog.  She doesn't really keep it; her mom does, but she picks it up to take photos with for her Christmas cards and such.

Who are these people?! This is the epitome of obnoxiousness.

  • I'm sorry you are feeling down, bec! When I moved here I didn't know a soul, and my BF at the time didn't allow me to make friends. When we broke up, I was lost, save for one friend from college that he semi-approved of. I really appreciate the group of friends I have now because of that whole experience.

My key was to join a workout group (triathlon first, then spinning, then bootcamp) and it was nice to just be around people. Some of my very best friends come from those groups. My friend is using the same strategy because she just moved to Chapel Hill and works from home, so she gets very lonely when her BF isn't home.

I hope it all gets better for you soon.

Oh, and family drama ensues in my mom 's family. Nothing like what you have going on, Number, but its still not fun. The wedding could end up being very interesting.

  • I'll just do what I did the first time I lived in Stepford: Put my leg lamp out in October, do my own yard work in heels, drink during play dates... I'll be rid of them in no time! :)

My neighborhood is actually not bad. There are a lot of older people around me, which is nice. I can play nice with the PTA mommies for as long as the meetings last, and then be rid of them. I just need to find some people my age who want to come out of the city into the burbs and visit, or vice versa. It'll happen. As soon as the house is ready to have visitors I'll start inviting J's co-workers and their spouses over and that will be a start. I just need to be patient!
  • Morning betches.

Today blows because I'm back at work after having Monday off to do wedding things, we have our weekly conference call in about a half hour - and we basically get to hear our director prattle on endlessly about oops!  When the FCC came last week to inspect, he didn't have the files ready!  Silly him.  Now we're not in compliance, doot doot.  ..........I am so sick of this guy's crap.

    The weekend needs to hurry!
