Re: Unpopular Opinions

• I'm 5'1 and I looked hot as shiit when I was a size 10. A 5'10 lady would look even hotter. Unless she is a butterface, then she is screwed regardless of her size.

[QUOTE]I know I haven't been on in awhile but I thought I'd rant too! I hate people that don't spay/neuter/vaccinate pets. I really hate people that don't vaccinate kids. People that expect me to be docile and demur because I have a vagina. Men who call me "sweetie" or "dear" who are NOT my fiance because I have female genetalia. People who post how awesome their life is on facebook that I fully expect they poop out rainbows, unicorns, and skittles. People who bit*h nonstop on facebook. When people call me 400 times just to say, "what are you doing?" People in nursing school who bitch about feces and vomit...you are a nurse...enough said. People who take their sick kids to school...hey thanks for bring bronchitis my way a-hole. People who let their kids do whatever the eff they want and say, "kids....they do the darndest things, eh?" Yeah when they are jerks, yes...yes they do. I know this isn't "controversial" so to speak, but irritating.

I'm not going to nursing school because I love playing with feces and vomit. Nothing will make those things any less disgusting.

I'm basically saying I think size 10 looks good though, take is a fucking complement and get over it. Whether size 10 hates her body or not, its not like I'm sying size 10ers look like shiit. I said they look good. To twist it to mean I'm somehow saying something negative is a stretch. Again, it works both ways.

I get what you're saying now, but that's not how it first came across. I think just because it was said after people who are thin were expressing the fact that they too can still have weight issues.

Someone who's a size 24 might say "I would KILL to be a size 16. That's not fat." But to me, currently at a size 16, I still think it is.

It's all about perspective.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Unpopular Opinions : The man currently has no choice if he wants to keep the baby. People were arguing that since he doesn't have a choice the equivalent would be him signing his rights away for the baby. I disagree and think the term 'pro-choice all the way around' would be giving either parental the option to abort. I don't agree with it, but for arguments sake that's what I take 'pro-choice all the way around' to mean.

But that's the problem: only the woman can get pregnant and only the woman can have the abortion. It's biology. Biology isn't fair, it just is.

There's a reason a lot of men I know wear a condom regardless of the woman's declared birth control status. That's the only way to have a modicum of control of the situation. Well, or to just not have sex with a person whose views on premarital pregnancy don't jive with his own.

THIS!

I was an 8 when I met DH, I'm now teetering between 12/14. I don't like it at all and honestly would be happier if I was back in my 10's. Everyone has their own idea of what size looks good on them.

I do see where that can go to extremes on either end though.

I wish people would be more responsible about discussing thoughts on pregnancy before they hop in the sack. But that gets kind of shady when it's a one night stand. Who wants to stop mid-hookup to say "oh by the way, if this results in a baby, what do you want to do with it?" Talk about a bonerkiller.
• I can get on board with dmills idea, sort of. If a woman gets KU and doesn't want a baby I think she should always be able to get an abortion. However if she decides to keep the baby and isn't married to the guy who got her KU and he makes it clear he has no desire to be a father than she is saying she's ok with being a single parent and with that comes taking care of that kid completely on your own. If I were a guy and was going to sign away my rights to my offspring I would be sure to sign away all financial responsibility too. If a woman doesn't like it she can get an abortion. The only scenario in which the woman didn't have a choice in getting KU is in instances of assault in which case that changes everything and the guy should be prosecuted.

I think it's selfish to will willing to have sex, risking pregnancy and expect that the guy be financially responsible for any child that may result should you choose to keep it. I do think there should be a time limit on this though. A guy should be all cool with a baby and then the girl is 8 months pregnant and CAN'T get an abortion and he want to flake out. He should have to sign away all responsibility while abortion is still an option.

• Guys, legit question. I'm writing a story with the word 'culinary' in it. The woman I interviewed repeatedly pronounced it "cue-linary" but I've only ever heard it pronounced "cull-inary." Are both acceptible or what? And am I going to sound like an ass if I pronounce it differently on air than my subject does in her sound bites?

• I have what is apparently an unpop op. If you suck at your job (like cannot meet the basic requirements. You know, like knowing how to alphabetize or answer a phone when you work as a secretary), you should be fired. I don't care how long you've been with the company. eff that loyalty shiit. If you suck and you can't do the job, you shouldn't be kept as an employee. And you most certainly as shiit shouldn't continue to get raises, just because you've been here forever.

• AATB, I have never heard of it pronounced the way she said it. That is weird to me.
• Can I tell my random butterface story?

I few years ago, a friend told me that my ex was dating a "butterface." Soon thereafter, I was a bit tipsy and called and told the ex that I heard that he was dating a girl with greasy skin. He was confused since she has a perfectly fine complexion and asked what I heard. I told him that my friend called his new girl a butterface, so I assumed that meant she had a lot of pimples.

Even now I find it hilarious that my ex had to explain what a butterface was to me at the expense of continuing the insult to his girlfriend.

For the record, the girl was not a butterface, she was a butter. Everything about her was not hot, even her personality.
• I agree with Nebb on this one. It's not her responsibility to cater to how everyone else views their body. She said she'd like to be a size 10, anything read into beyond she likes the way she looks at a 10 isn't really her responsibility.

A friend of mine called me this weekend in tears that she's gained so much weight and she's such a fat sloppy cow. We're both 5'9" and she still weighs 15lbs less than I do. It doesn't bother me at all that she doesn't feel ok with her current weight, I also didn't take it as her saying anything negative about my weight.

Oh I agree. hence why I wish people would do it. I just know they wouldn't in the heat of the moment like that.
• Ditto KC. AND why the fvck can't a woman make sure the guy wears a damn condom? (Yes, I know they break and stuff, but I highly doubt all unplanned pregnancies result from condoms breaking, lets be honest.) It's far easier for a woman to 'trick' a man into getting her pregnant by lying that she's on the pill or whatever. Plus, if you have unprotected sex, there's a morning after pill too.

I still think women have WAY more options than men when it comes to the decision of whether or not a child will be produced.
