High Five to Meghan McCain

There was a post earlier in the week about Glenn Beck's charades involving Meghan McCain's skin cancer PSA in which he pretended to vomit on his radio show and made nasty remarks about her body.

Well, Meghan addressed Beck in an article on The Daily Beast that I wanted to shareif you were following the story, or even if you weren't. I think she made some excellent points and I'm glad she responded to that jackass, exposing him further for what he is.

Right? I have to admit, I didn't know very much about Meghan (other than being the daughter of McCain), and not that I know a lot about her now - but right on! I have a lot of respect for her for not only feeling passionate about the PSA, but for telling Beck where to shove it.

The fact of the matter is, he called her out for political reasons. No offense to good old Topanga (from Boy Meets World) in the video, but she looks bigger than Meghan. So the fact that Beck called out the daughter of a prominent politician, speaks volumes.

Not only is he a complete fucking imbesile, but it seems he had a whole hidden agenda behind choosing her anyway. I can't fathom his brand of ridiculousness.

I absolutely adore Meghan McCain, and I have for awhile.  I think the first time I realized I liked her so much was when she participated in the NO H8 (?) campgain (against the bill in CA to ban gay marriage.)  She's always extremely well-spoken, and I love that she has no problems speaking out against her fellow Republicans.

Ugh. Sadly, my parents are very conservative and LOVE to watch Fox News. All the time. They love Bill O'Reilly (in fact, my godfather gave me one of Billy O'Reilly's books for my 18th birthday - it's buried at the bottom of my closet somewhere) and they don't see much wrong with Glenn Beck.

How can people listen to someone like this and not lose respect for them? When I told my father about this, he just gave a disgusted expression, but didn't say anything about it. 

Sorry, I'm not really a fan of anyone from Fox News.

ETA: Oh, and kudos to Mehgan for her retort!

Ugh, what a loser. Glenn Beck= fail. I used to find him entertaining, certainly taking into account how biased he was of course, but now he is just dumb. Absolutely tasteless. 

As for Fox News, I do feel like they get somewhat of a bad reputation based on idiots like this. If you watch them knowing they tend to have a conservative slant, fine. I think its good to listen to a variety of sources, better yet watch CSPAN, if you can stand it more than 20 minutes. 

My local Fox branch was barred from entrance to a government, public meeting at our state capitol (governor was signing a bill or something) because our governor felt like Fox, no mention of specifically who, "lied" about him and his campaign, but yet he is a conservative Republican! Go figure...

Update: Apparently my local branch of Fox reported that the governor's daughter in law was involved with some shady business and obviously Mr. Deal (GA governor) didn't like that, which is why Fox was banned. Still, I don't think that is allowed...1st Amendment, no?

Umm He said this on his radio show not FOX. I know b/c I was listening to it and was shocked that he would make a looks comment like that. I watch fox and not every person that watches FOX is a crazy conservative. Also if you even watched Bill you'd know he isn't a crazy conservative, he's an independent who actually stands up for Obama a lot on his program but the liberal media does show that now do they?

I dont think he says anything any more inflammatory than Bill Maher.  They are shock jocks of sort.  What he said was douchey, but I take what those guys say with a grain of salt.

If people consider their shows to be "news" or them to be "reporters" then I dont know what to tell them.
