I thought this thread started out great and then ended up a little weird. FWIW, I think that Beck was being an immature douche. Seriously, like 7th grade-type insults. I don't care what network he came from or who he is affiliated with. If any idiot with an audience spouted off like that I'd want him to get taken to task for it. If all the women who were degraded by Howard Stern wanted to write rebuttals to him, I'd cheer those on too.

Woah what happened here? LTZ sorry if you thought I was ignoring you by not responding. I fell asleep on the couch. But to respond now. Yes I think all three if you were basically saying Glenn acted like a douche but that doesn't mean all of conservatives are asshats. I think you all got overly defensive because you are opposites politically and have disagreed in the past. I really dont think Blue was trying to argue. To me it just sounded like you both kept trying to clarify your point of views. Anyway. Seriously though. Where did the comments about your Internet, firefighters, and MC come from?

Yeah they seemed to have a little theme going on with the ladies from our favorite 80's and 90's shows: Vanessa from The Cosby Show, Ashley from Fresh Prince, Topanga... :)

ETA: Oh and Brandy! I never watched Moesha, but she was a late 90's staple for me, music-wise.

Glen Beck is a giant tool.  McCain was attempting to bring public awareness to a serious medical issue that due to her father she has a personal stake in, and his response was to mock her, say she was fat and vomit into a trash can?  Why the hell do people think this is no big deal?  So because Howard Stern is a giant twat too, that somehow makes it not a big deal for Glen Beck to be one?  Why would you even continue to listen to a person who does sh*t like that?

Darnit, Nugget, I wanted to see what you wrote here so I opened the thread up again, and for some reason ended up reading the insanity of the last two pages again. I thought maybe I could make it make sense the second time around, but I was mistaken.

On topic: I think Beck is a tool for doing that, and my opinion in this case has nothing to do with his political beliefs-- just him as a human being.

Beck is a tool for what he said.  We've all established this.

Personally I don't like that ANYONE would watch a single network and take what they have to say ad nauseam.  Beck didn't say what he said on FOX, but he is a well known figure from that network and unfortunately his actions shine poorly on it because of the association he holds.  I can't stand that anyone also watches only CNN and believes that they are %100 legit.  The only way to truly understand what is going on with the world is to watch several different sources and interpret the truth after comparing to facts that have been researched on your own. 

It's really sad that it's almost easier to trust the comic pundits like John Stewart and Steven Colbert more than the "legitimate" news sources.

I can not stand McCain and Beck and am extremely liberal but love what Meghan said. Very classy response too!
