Life update/good evening!

Hi ladies and good evening!

Today has been a busy day. I am officially employed and even though it is part-time and not what I want to be doing, I am very happy. I am setting up an interview tomorrow for a bank position so hopefully I will be working 2 part-time jobs very soon. Teaching jobs are hard to come by around here right now and since we are looking to move within the year this might be the best option right now considering I could probably transfer with both these positions relatively easy.

Being unemployed has been a huge stressor for me, and my mental health has definitely suffered. The stress of H making the only $ in the relationship has also been stressful so we are both happy that I'll be working. The only trade-off is that my weekend freedom is gone. Oh well, can't win them all.

Tomorrow I am officially doing all my name-change stuff. Today is our 1 month anniversary Training has officially started for my half-marathon. Exciting stuff.

What's up with everyone else?

Congratulations Al.  It's got to be a huge relief and hopefully you'll end up enjoying the job even if it's not ideal. 

It's been quiet for a Monday which is nice.  Going to try to get as much rest in as possible for our crazy whirlwind trip to KC/Omaha at the end of the week.

I am at work for another half hour then I am stopping by the store to pick up a few things. We had a busy weekend so I didn't have time to run any errands.

Evening everyone!

Congrats on the job!  I'm being a bum tonight.  FI is sleeping right now.  His back has been bothering him the last few days and we went to the ER last night.  They gave him some muscle relaxers at the ER, and we went and got the prescription filled today.  He took some when we got home and has been out since.  I think we are gonna try and do some housecleaning tomorrow if he feels better.  

Before we got FI's meds, we went to meet with the ceremony musician.  It's all starting to become really real now.  We aren't doing a full Catholic Mass, so all we had to let him know was songs for the prelude, processional, bride's entrance, and unity candle.  We meet with our wedding coordinator Wednesday.  

I sign my Air Force job contract on Wednesday!  I'm so excited!  I swore in to the Delayed Entry Program in April and have been waiting for a job since.  I leave for Basic Training on October 16.

ETA:  And we are getting our marriage license tomorrow.

The name change process is quite interesting. Just when I think I've covered it all, I haven't.

I'm at work until 8. It's been a crazy busy day.

I left early from work cause I felt so sick, im pretty sure the pills the endocrinologist put me on are royally effing my stomach. I felt like this last week but not until like 3pm so I stuck it out but this hit me at like 10 am so I just left. I called and no one answered or called me back so I made an appointment with my diickhead doctor to see if he can do anything. I napped this afternoon and woke up still feeling like crap

congrats on the job capone! I hope the other one pans out too.

Texas, getting the license was really emotional for me for some reason.  Congratulations to you too on the AF job!

Texas--what happened to your FI? Sorry if I missed it earlier (I probably did). That's pretty exciting..you are getting so close! And congrats on your Air Force contract!

Chels--I'm trying to do SS and my drivers license tomorrow. I have to change it from MI to OH too (plus it's expired lol cause I just turned 25 so I wait til I had the certified marriage license copy). I'll probably do my bank stuff too. What have you been forgetting? You are making me nervous.

Here is a fun story. I havnt updated lately on our mike holmes disaster basement. The contractor found that the supports in the basement had been moved by the previous owners and they had left one out so the house wasnt properly supported so he had to move and add them. He dug up the floor where he needed to put the support so he could properly reinforce the floor only to find the sewage pipe leading out of the house directly underneath where it needs to be, so he had to dig up most of the floor and re-route the pipe. once he had the floor all dug up, he noticed there was standing water. There was some hemming and hawing and a lot of stuff I didnt pay attention to and they have fixed some interior issues which could have been causing it but the water kept coming back and they figured out that the pipe is crushed about 15 feet from the house and the driveway is going to have to be dug up to fix it. I just went into the basement for the first time in about 2 weeks cause we can finally use the washer and dryer again aaaaaaaand there was a huge brown splatter on the wall at the bottom of the stairs (where the pipe leads out of the house) and I go "is that shhiit??". Yup, its like shhiit exploded out of the pipe and all over the wall and that area is going to have to get new drywall once the floor is all closed up. Awesome, huh?

Apparently my favor boxes are too small. Thanks mom. Now I get to return them and search for new crap. I ended our phone call by saying "excuse me while I go have a panic attack". Now I'm laying in bed after a huge meal of breaded chicken and pasta and spinach artichoke dip. Here comes the heartburn...

Know what strikes me as odd? People on here always seem to get interviews so fast/easily. I dont get it. I have had two HR people review and edit my resume, so I know its not that I suck. It just always seems weird that I never get attention and it seems like other people get it like mad.

Evening!  I just got done completely reorganizing our spare bedroom now that most of the wedding stuff is gone.  It seems like we have so much more room now. I also found a card I got H when we had 100 days to go and I can't believe how fast this all went.  Now I need to countdown to my  honeymoon!  I ordered some pizza from the new place in town and I hope it's good; I'm starving.

<div>He isn't icing.  He was using heat on it though, and I don't know if that made it worse or not.  But he is definitely feeling a little better with the muscle relaxer.  He got a doctor's not for this week so he doesn't make it worse before we have to travel to my hometown for our showers this weekend.  </div><div>
</div><div>I have a shower at 10 on Saturday with all of my relatives/my mom's friends from that area, and then we have a couple's shower in the evening with some people from the church I grew up in.  FI's family is throwing us a shower up here either the last weekend in July or first weekend in August, don't quite know yet.  If it even happens.</div>
