[QUOTE]Poor guy Texas.  Glad his doctor is on board with giving him some down time.

<div>Yeah, when he does work a full week, he works at least 60 hours (he is a lifeguard supervisor at Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels).  There have been a few weeks where he has worked 80+ hours.  It's insane.  </div>

  • Yikes.  Those are some crazy hours.  Also, if you can get your hands on some Bio-Freeze for him, that stuff is awesome.

<div>Maybe I'll go by CVS later and get some if they have it.  I think he's gonna take another muscle relaxer soon and pass out again.  At least he'll be able to get a good night's sleep.  </div>

  • Thanks Dot! I'll keep you posted.
  • Congrats on the job!

Nebb, I hear you about not getting a lot of attention in the job search.  I have sent off many a resume and... crickets.  I used to think I did great at interviews, but I have gotten to that stage a fair few times and have not landed the job.  It is crazy competitive for everything right now, and there is always someone with more experience.

I have two part time jobs right now, one that is barely giving me any hours.  It will be a tough rest of the summer.  By fall, I should be getting more hours for subbing in a childcare center.  The other job, I lucked into.  It is very close to what I want to do full time, so it is a great resume builder.  I am a part time office manager for a non-profit.  I just started last week and was offered the job because I had been doing a few hours a week as a personal assistant to the founder of the organization, and he encouraged the board to consider me.

  • That's awesome about your job Koda!  When do you find out if they are keeping you on permanently (if I remember correctly, you mentioned it was a temp to perm?)

  • Most places that do that hire from within (or hire the temp person) so they don't have to train someone new.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!  Hope it works out.
