• I kinda feel bad saying that now since I named my car. But I hate Ernie (my car).

• LOL Rach. I love that you drive a monte carlo. Those things are fug.

• Had a salad with chick peas and a bunch of other stuff with sun dried tomato dressing, a rice cake, and a banana. Its hot as hell in here today so I'm glad I didn't bring soup. I'm finishing up some things and analyzing data while figurong out why the heck nothing is working in this new lab. Fun.
• I've had four cars - Two Dodges, a Pontiac and now my Chevy.  I think I'm a Chevy convert.  WHOA.  My dad's always been a Ford man, but the Ford dealership didn't have exactly what he wanted exactly when he wanted it, so he ended up getting a big Dodge truck.  It's weird seeing him in it, especially since my BIL drives a big ass Dodge too.

My first Dodge (Diplomat) was a '78 and my second Dodge (STRATUS) was an 05.  That's the one that got stolen and was totalled.  Oops.

I mean..I'm grateful to not have a car payment, but that is this car's ONE AND ONLY redeeming quality.

Haha! Well yeah hey I'd ride it out (hah see what I did there) until you have to if its free, I get that for sure.

My first car was a '99 Pontiac Bonneville that my mom gave me in college when she finally bought a new car. I friggin LOVED that thing. It's name was The Boat, or sometimes Bertha. It was HUGE and I miss it. :( After it committed suicide I got this dumb ass Elantra.

• Thanks, Ski! Yours is beautiful, as well. I don't know.of I could eat baked avocado, but I do love it on salads and sandwiches and guac and all.
• I think the Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing is so funny out in the country. J's family are all Chevy men so when he got the Ford Expedition this past Feb after having a Chevy Blazer, his whole family acted like he married into a cult or something. It was hilarious.

• Well my last 5 vehicles have been Honda's, so me going for a Ford is breaking my heart.

And I'll be honest I LOVE my Ridgeline. She's just getting up there in miles.

• Hah my Bonneville is technically discontinued only because it went out of business.

All I know is I need a bigger car. I'm fucking 5'11 and I fit into my boxcar shithole only because I have to.

• We had a Malibu and Mazda as rentals last week. The Malibu was a POS with mileage, but the Mazda wasn't too bad. Of course, N is in love with his Corolla aand obsessively tracks.his.gas mileage and all. We're looking.to get a Rav 4 in September so we have a "family car." At least it's not a minivan.

Omg, it's like we can't help but make it a huge deal.  So ridiculous but I totally don't care, lol.

On the other hand, my co-worker has a Chevy Traverse and always calls it his "truck."  OMG.  NO.

• I am looking to get a new (to me) vehicle this fall.  I have been loving the Honda CRV lately.  Just waiting on my daughters car to commit suicide so that I have a reason to give her the Ford Taurus that I am driving.  Then, and only then, momma is getting a new vehicle.  I so miss having leather interior and a moon roof.

Haha it is crazy how big of a deal it is. I don't have a huge preference really. A Traverse is like a glorified minivan isn't it? I would consider an Expedition a truck though.

J knows that once this Expedition is done (its a 2002 and we bought it with 110,000 miles...basically a care to last a few years before we get regular jobs), he wants a Toyota Tundra. So going completely against the 'Murrican truck tradition thing.

That Tundra is fucking sexy though. We test drove one and it was awesome.
In Response to Re: Where is everyone? : Oh good.  At least they can fix yours before you get it.
Posted by Dot Dash
Oh it has to do with a piece of carpet coming between the gas and brake pedal. Minor, easy fix.

I loved my H's 05' Escape it handled great. But, he traded it for his F150 and we dont need 2 trucks, plus they are hard to fit in the garage in winter.

And I love the gas mileage, it has the Ecoboost so it's 30 on the Hwy.

• Musu, the Tundras are bitchin.  I love my 4Runner.  The only annoying thing is the position of the gas tank, but I figure if that's the only thing I don't like then I'm doing good.

Was she your husbands 3rd wife? ;)

My ex left me for this nutjob, he soon found out how looney she was. She started stalking me, for like 3 years even after my ex and her were divorced. He's on his 4th now, and I think she still bothers him. I felt like I moved to witness protection when I moved up here.

H didnt believe me till I let him read the 6 page (front and back) type written letter on floral paper she wrote to me. And that was the second one!

• I want an SUV but I just can't bring myself to get a car with anything but amazing gas mileage since FI drives a big daddy diesel lifted, huge tires, the whole bit chevy truck. I have an old as heck Acura now and I'm most likely getting a Subaru soonish. I joked with FI that I have to get the fast models because we aren't "earthy" enough for half of them.

What is up with the gas tank position? And yes I agree, they are totally bitchin. I really like the new 4Runners a lot too. I probably will end up getting a Toyota SUV or crossover like the Highlander.

It seems really high up.  I have to hold my arm up at a weird level to fill it.  I've never had that issue before, and I've always driven trucks or jeep-like things.  Plus if I don't click the gas cap 65687894168 times I end with a flashing light on my dash giving me an error.  I heard another woman talking about that at Toyota when I was there getting my oil changed the other day.

• Huh, interesting. I had to really get used to pulling the "gas tank" switch before getting out of the car when I first got my Elantra. Otherwise I'd get out and have to run back in to pull it. Annoying.
image
• Yeah I'm still getting used to doing that too.  I accidentally popped the hood the other day.

• Shitballs, AATB, that is awesome. That's what N gets with his Corolla and he was cursing that Malibu.out since gas is.so.expensive.out there. Rental cars are always POS.
