Your great dane puppy isn't going to fit in you Jetta for very long.  That is one big dog! My dog was wierd about peeing in unfamiliar territory, but they learn to get over that.  Give your pup a potty break during long car rides.  They sell backseat covers that are somewhat waterproof.  Always carry cleaner in the case of accidents when you have a long car ride,

Try this recipe. It's for cat pee but I think it would work fine for dog (although do be careful that the hydrogen peroxide doesn't lighten your seats- it works fine on carpet but you may want to test a small patch under the seat to start): http://www.catsofaustralia.com/urinestainremoval.htm#Recipe0

Demon gets carsick like nothing I've seen before. Without fail she vomits no matter if it's a 5 minute trip or 4 hours.

Try super soaking the seat with vinegar mix or Nature Miracle. Likely the urine went into the padding under the seat and the detailing only got the surface. Open up the windows and let it dry.
