What to include on wedding website?

So, I made a wedding website for us, but I'm not sure what all I should include.

Here's what I have so so far:

Venue information, date & time of ceremony
Hotel Information
Light Rail Information
Photos
Things to do while in Phoenix
Request a song
Contact Us form for specific questions

What else should I add?

This will probably be a post and run, but I will be excited to come back and read your ideas. Thanks!

Re: What to include on wedding website?

  • Registry :)

AND!  Your story.  How you guys got together, how he popped the question.  Stuff like that.

  • YAY!  I want a bio, as well, for your KNotties.

I'll PM you my website so you can see what I did.  We just included all the information (thus far) that people will need for the wedding.  AATB is right about the registry, as well.  Anything we weren't done with, we just listed and put "coming soon" so people knew to check back.
  • We did "things to do" in NYC also (like you listed) and it's a huge hit with our OOT people. We have a long way to go, but so far a lot of people are looking into making it a weeklong vacation because they see that there's so much to do.
  • I like that you have light rail info!  I was just on it today wondering if any of our guests would actually use it.  Maybe I'll steal that idea.
  • We also put RD info since every one was invited to that... if you are including OOT guests that might be nice.

This, with clicky links if you want to be really nice. :) You can also list well-rated hotels in the area: a couple upscale and a couple affordable ones.

Also, directions to the venue from every direction.

    And a guestbook!

ETA: Oops, I see you already have some of this covered! Carry on then.

  • I love our guestbook option!  People have left the best messages so far.

We also have an RSVP option.

Ditto BG on the clicky links.  I think we included websites for all of our things to do, plus I linked a website (something like Fun NJ or something) which listed a ton of other stuff as well.

When we choose hotels, we'll put them on there, too.  We even have music/song options and have our main contenders for first dance playing in the background.
  • Thanks guys! Great ideas!

I wasn't sure if it was ok or not to put registry info on there. Although, we haven't actually registered yet. I like the "coming soon" idea, though.

Also, kim, steal away! I just added a link directly to the page with the light rail route. From there, it has fare information, too.

Are you still here?  I'll post the links to mine and my friend's and just take them down once you have them.  Stupid PMs.
  • I am still here! Also, when I was having problems with PMing you the other day, I noticed it wouldn't work until I added a Subject. I don't know if it's more than just that, but I figured I'd throw it out there. Or maybe I'll try to PM you first.

  • Got it!

And, KIm, you are a crazy stalker.  Your stalkeration brings stalker antics to a whole new level.  I should have known you would try to overthrow me as queen of 2011 with your stalkertude.

Enough words with stalker in them?  Stalker!
  • Enough words with stalker in them?

    Allllllllllmost.
  • I don't know what's going on, but Kim, you're funny when you're hyper!

I heart you for reworked anchorman quotes. I hope that's ok.

  • PS - a break from the hyper, both of your websites are cute!  I just told Scott today we need to do our soon and now I'm kind of excited about it.

And now I have deleted both sites from my memory so as to not be a stalker.

    .....What is this thread about?
  • Np, I just heart you for everything!

Your website looks awesome! Also, your venue is beautiful and I love all of your photos!

Whatever.  You totally tatooed the link on your arm.

    And thanks :)
  • Thanks, Kim! Also, I don't care if you look at my site. I don't think it's stalkerish. I just deleted, so that not anyone on here, lurkers and all, could look at it.

We're planning on doing a WP page once we officially ask everyone.  Honestly, I did the website originally because I was an AW and was excited when we first got engaged, but with FI's fam so far away, it really has helped keep everyone in the loop.
  • That's kind of why I did it, too. A lot of our guests are out of town, so I figured that was the best way to get them the hotel information. That's the main reason I made one, but now I think it's a lot of fun.

P.S. I voted on your song, I hope that's ok. lol.

I think you voted for Everlong.  True? That's my fav.
