Now I want diamond frosted hair. :P I picture it looking better in blonde hair though.

Well I know a anti-IVF catholic whos pit-bull from Michael Vick bit his gay boy scout den leader.

    I win.

Oh yeah?  Well I know a feminist abortion provider who knots when she should be seeing her patients and who had a cash bar at her wedding. So there.
  • Pardon me if my ignorance is showing, but could you brush your hair when you have extensions  in? It seems that below the top layer of hair, it would be all knotty underneath.

    I've always wondered this too.

I also wonder why it took me so long to find out that you could click that little magnifying glass to see post history. I'm a smart one.

If you pull this off, even with FI's help, you get mad props from me. I sacrificed a lot to have my open bar so I feel ya.
In Response to Re: Air Your Grievances! : I think they're very tiny knots right at your scalp.  So I think you can brush....carefully.
    Posted by jcbsjr
I know of two ways they do extensions: sew them in or glue them in.  For the sew in, they cornrow your hair in a circle around your head and then sew the fake hair tracks into the braid.  For glue in, I think they glue the track of fake hair directly onto your real hair very close to the scalp.  I would imagine it's difficult to comb/brush the glued hair, but you can comb/brush, wash, set, etc the sewn in tracks.  These are the ways they do it for black hair, but I don't see why they couldn't do it for other cultures' hair as well.
  • Hmmm... that's them assuming your guests don't have money to quench their alcoholism? Every alcoholic has money to spend on alcohol. And they will, oh boy, they will. Not good logic.

If it makes them feel better: weddings have 'activities'. Eating, toasting, bouquet toss, etc. If you space the activities apart just so, people are actually only drinking for a few hours with ten minute breaks every so often. If some one is getting sloppy, it won't be until the very end of the night, and you can warn bartenders about asking crazy aunts to leave.

(I have a lot of drunkies in the fam, I worried about it a lot and had no hard liquor, everything worked out fine and everyone got crazy at the hotel later)

I love that you are crazy persistent about this. I was like this about a few items H didn't agree with (like our awesome chairs). I refused to budge but was nice about it and in the end I won lol. He is still happy I pushed on everything.
In Response to Re: Air Your Grievances! : See that's just sounds freakin' ass painful.  Is it?  I don't think I could sit still that long anyway.  I have a hard enough time sitting still when getting my highlights.  Ugh.  Me of little patience.

If they braid the cornrows too tight or sew it in too tight it can be.  But they loosen it up.  I've never personally had weaves, but I've had braided extensions, and you have to make sure they don't braid it too tight.  I've had friends who had to get their weaves re-done becasue it was too tight and caused breakage and/or bumps along the hairline.  But I could always tell when the stylist was braiding it too tight.  The glue can sometimes irritate your scalp too.

I wonder if the woman who paid $1000 was including the price of hair too. Good quality hair can be very expensive, but you can re-use it.  $1000 is still a lot of money though.

TheCranberries I noticed has been on TK for four years and is just now getting married, which I imagine does happen, not a bad thing just an observation.

    What is an AE?

I already addressed this earlier, but I joined in 2002 when a coworker was getting married, and I was looking at wedding ideas with her.  I didn't start coming to the boards until this year though when I started planning my own wedding.

AE= alter ego, which I am not.

I know a lot of people here love him.. and I think hes ok (well I did until I saw LC's post today) but I think he's an AE. I just don't buy any of it. Maybe I am being sexist.
