[QUOTE]Eh, it depends a ton on your budget. Metro access does go out as far as Vienna/Falls Church/Springfield though which does open up your options a ton. I'll talk to some of my Realtor friends and see if I can get some ideas for you :)

    Excellent!  Thank you!

The real estate websites i've been browsing are all so hard to find things on since i then have to cross-reference the metro rail map to see if they'll do.  i'd really like walking distance. 3+ bedroom, 2+ bath, and cute even from the outside.  I've seen some beautiful homes that look like they need a lot of exterior work.we'd like to stay in the 550k range but can do 750k for the perfect place.

Do your realtor friends have a website I can browse?

I judge that too. It really irks me though that people constantly get on us about getting Quincy neutered. He is with us at all time, we walk him and he's never off a leash. There's no risk of him impregnating some dog. Why do I have to get him neutered? I like him just the way he is with all his bits.
Um, on the other hand, I do kind of want to get it done to seee if it helps calm him down.

I know that's a stretch for a judge. It just hit me with this first guest.

Im way late but I actually think getting trashed at the beginning of your pregnancy is way worse than having a glass of wine or a beer here and there towards the end of your pregnancy, I dont think its something to just shrug off because you "didnt know". I also dont think having a drink here and there while youre pregnant is bad, there can be certain things in the drink that are good for you (iron in guiness?), and if the doc says ok then whats the problem. I also dont think its such a horrible thing for moms to still smoke during pregnancy - my mom did her entire pregnancy with me because she was a heavy smoker to begin with and the doctor told her flat out it could put stress onthe baby if she tried to quit.

Im of the minority though and I dont see smoking as a big deal, i live with 2 heavy smokers and it doesnt bother me in the least. Sure there might be negative repercussions in my heath in the future, but many things could cause health issues so its kind of a gamble we take day to day.

    I agree with this.

I judge the neighbors across the street who left their dog outside chained up when they weren't home during a storm Sunday evening. No doghouse, no overhang, just a sad, wet doggie that wanted to go inside. It's Colorado, it storms almost every day in August, why would you leave your dog outside when you were gone for hours?

this lady believed keeping her UNALTERED female dog in a yard would mean that she was safe...and she ended up pregnant and wanted to euth the dog since she didn't want to deal with the puppies....same time i get 100-200 emails a day of dogs that need saving from the shelter because people that don't fix pets dump the pups, or turn their unaltered dogs loose and they procreate leading to a lot of dogs being euthed...

roxy it's up to you with male dogs they mark more, and more high energy, and in some breeds it can cause them to become more aggressive (they are sexually frustrated)...just think of a horny guy not getting laid basically - and honestly, gloves off...if i saw you out and your dog acting up, i'd probably judge ya, but i do bite my tongue sometimes

our fundraiser this weekend and hundreds of dogs there - the requirement was they had to be spay/neutered....not one issue with the dogs because they weren't putting off the scent they would if they were intact....

I judge the people on my guest list who could not be bothered to RSVP to our wedding.
I addressed it, I return-addressed it, I stamped it. All they had to to do was decide if they could come, record ONE digit on the card, and put the postcard (that's right, they didn't even have to f*#^ around with an envelope) in YOUR OWN (at most one would be required to walk across the street to one's mail box) mail box.

    How  f*#^ing hard is that?

I judge those who couldn't be bothered to respond to my polite follow-up email concerning said missing RSVP even more harshly.

Additionally, I judge the potential guest who has the nerve to execute this correspondence:

    "Hello Cousin,
Will you be coming to the wedding?
    Thanks, Bride."

    "Bride,
    Yes.
    -Cousin."

"Thanks, Cousin. Will it be both you and Husband, or just you, or just husband?
    -Bride."

    "Bride,
    We all will be there.
    -Cousin."

Cousin has 2 kids. The invitation was addressed to "Cousin & Husband."
    Get bent, Cousin.

  • Roxy- My dog is always with us too and doesnt have the chance of getting knocked up.  We fixed her because she has had 2 liters and they vet said it was a good idea because since she had puppies she was at a higher risk of getting reproductive cancers etc.  She got a full hysterectomy though, not just her tubes tied.

I dont know if I would have wanted to put her through that if it wasnt going to be for health purposes.  She had it done at 7 and she was pretty out of it for a week.

So I hear you on not wanting to get him de-balled.  If you are a responsible owner and keep him from impregnating the neighborhood dogs I dont see a problem with it.

Roxy, the neutering almost always helps with behavior problems. It won't change his personality, just make some things easier on everyone. Like jelenny said, sexual frustration is not fun.
