If you have an engagement ring, when do you take it off, if ever? Do you sleep in it? Shower in it?

So far I've only taken mine off twice (once for SCUBA diving, and once for boxing class). Just wondering what others do.

    I'm in Americorp and last round we were doing urban gardening and this round is construction, so I take mine off during the workday and also when I shower or sleep. My ring's a family hierloom and I am scared of losing it or messing it up (I have seen family drama erupt over the subject of who gets the ring when great-grandma dies and if I can avoid some of that I will try).

    I take mine off when I'm baking something that I have to knead/mix with my hands (it's got a lot of small spaces that crap can get into). I'm still sort of going back and forth on having it welded onto my wedding band, but I do know I'll wear them both together.
