Unnecessary FB status updates:

Re: Unnecessary FB status updates:

• My mother seems to enjoy broadcasting about mine and my siblings lives on her status. For example: "Suz's trip to the beach went well. She called me yesterday to say she's a little burnt but had fun."

Really Mom???? Its not like she's saying something like "Suz and her fiance had a fight today, I wish she'd send him packing." or something totally out of line, but I'm 22 and five states away - If I want to tell people about things in my life that they don't care about, I'll do it myself.

• I woke up the other morning and the first thing on my homepage was a PHOTO of a woman's 2 year old "using the potty". Btw, the little girl was completely naked while sitting on the toilet. I am by no means a prude or anything but I just don't think posting that kind of photo on the internet of your child is ok.

• One of my friends always is depressed on FB, which worries me a lot. Every post is "I miss my kids" "I miss my family" "Sometimes I just can't catch a break".

He definitely has the right to be so depressed, his 2 preteen kids were murdered by their step dad, and he lost both of his parents months later, but I don't think the statuses are helping. He also did a "The one person who stood beside me is finally gone. I should have known she wouldn't stay."

Except his gf didn't break up with him, she just had to go home to help her parents for a few months. He got the token "Oh K, you can do so much better " "I'm sorry to hear that, chin up, she's not worth it."

Then she got on and blew up at everyone, ending her post, "K, I love you and I'm planning on spending forever with you, but stop talking about our relationship on FB please. People are morons and going to assume the worst and that's not fair to me"

[QUOTE]My cousin always posts random crap that no one cares about. I know she does it to get attention, and its annoying. She also has the WORST spelling and grammer. Really, how hard is it to spell the word later??

• "7 days until my wedding OMG!"

Yeah..I totally posted that lol.
• People who update about their divorces. People who constantly post negative things. Religious stuff.

Yep - I saw this too a few too many times. I feel uncomfortable about seeing it! Why would you put a photo up that creepers on the internet can find later?

Also - your naked kid taking a poop may be cute to you, but it's down right disgusting to me. I have no interest in looking at a naked 5 year old boy on a toilet. gross.

My SIL posted pics of her naked daughter (diaper only) running through the sprinkler. SHE'S 4. 1) she shouldn't be in a diaper; 2) don't put that on the internet!!! I know you think of her as your little baby, but she's not!

I'm trying to avoid all wedding stuff on FB because there are some "friends" on there that we are not inviting - one being the crazy "downer" girl I quoted a few posts up. FI and I both went to HS with them, but don't talk anymore and well, they are all just too much DRAMA for us.

I want to avoid posting something like "100 days" and having them comment with something like "can't wait!" or "we'll be there!"
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
• I have a friend who mixes song lyrics and uses crazy spellings. I usually have to read her updates 2-3 times to see what they're even saying, then they don't make a lot of sense.

A couple examples:

"UGH I wanna b a billionaire soooo FrEaKiN BaD, I could ReallY use a wish RITE NOW!!!!!"

"awww jus tlkd 2 mii mother in-law :) now @ this skool waitin.....ugh"

(she's not married, or in school)
• I will scream if one more of my friends posts something along the lines of "planning to make a baby tonight." Ick. Ick. Ick.

Or I have a few friends that are in long term relationships where they constantly break up, make up, etc. etc. and every other post is " I hate so and so" or "I love so so so much I'd die without them."
• - I have a friend who posts on almost nothing about what day of the week it is. ...has a case of the Mondays. ...Ugh, so tired, it was hard to get up today. Only three more days until the weekend. ...TGIF! ...Yay, Saturday! ...is sad it's Sunday and another work week is starting. On and on and on. I am so tempted to write sometime, why don't you get another job you don't hate so much so you can quit whining all the time.

- The commands to post some stupid paragraph into your status. Like about how great your husband or your mom is or whatever disease of the week is your big cause. Ending with "Repost this in your status if you have a man/mom you love more than anything." Or "Repost if you want to take a stand against autism." It's just so fake and such an empty gesture. And when I see it 7 times in one day on my feed, I just roll my eyes at each one.
• speaking of...this just showed up on my news feed

"My living room is officially a [baby's name] shrine."

This is the mom who "became a professional photographer because of her kid".

I have a couple people (including the afore mentioned ni**er guy) who constantly talks about doing things with his "wifey" or "watching a movie with my hubby". You aren't married, they are not your wife!
• I have a distant relative whose posts are always "Goin 2 dinnah wid da hubz and the kidz duhhh!!" I'm 95% certain that she is not married and has no children.
• My sister just pointed out that our cousin posts completely naked pics of her kids. There is a really bad one with her son laying behind her daughter (only a few months old, the son at least 2). It's really disturbing I tried adding her just to report the pictures but she ignored it so I kept telling my sister to report the pictures.
And there is one of her holding her daughter and it looks like she's in a bra. They all are very disturbing.

I'm going to try and add her again just so I can report the pictures.

• Lyrics, cryptic quotes, details about your babies and/or sex life. Ugh.

"We just started introducing M to her own potty...last night she went potty in her toilet and we just thought it was a fluke..."

"Why are we always the only ones here who aren't dressed like we're going to a hoe-down?"

And the 8 million posts about babies/children doing this or that....along with 8 million pictures. :P

Thinking of who deserves for me to give it to and that would mean alot for my daughter to have that persons presents????? Also that has supported her....... Wow what a hard task I have in front of me..... UMMMMMMM THIS IS HARD!!!! :(((( Her pre-teen daughter is a pageant girl. She also has photos of said pre-teen daughter in a bikini all over her FB. Really?

I would unfriend her just for the misspelling and grammar issues. I initially read that as persons should bring her presents.

• All of these statuses are horrible :-(

I will definitely delete people from my facebook with statuses like these. Most of the time these are the people that I really don't need to hear about at all. I'm trying to slim down the number of friends I have so I only hear news from people I actually like.

And you can't talk about fb statuses, without mentioning this website: http://failbook.com
Love it.......it's too funny.
