Re: I thought all the *meanies* would like this...

  • Hey! Just started lurking a bit today while at work... been gone a few months.

Perhaps "Snarky Brides" isn't the right place to say this, but I've always agreed with Prusgirl.

I think it's great that people on this board are blunt and honest. Sometimes with al the wedding craziness, it's necessary.

That being said, I've seen some of the cruelest cyber bullying on this site as well.

People here say that once they grow a thick skin and stick it out, they'll start to understand. Isn't that the definition of hazing?

Sorry, but newcomers shouldn't have to go through a cruel and belittling iniciation process just to post on a board for brides. Seriously? Hazing on a board for BRIDES?

**Note: The woman who wants to sue the Knot does sound like she's pretty crazy. I'll give you that :)

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: I thought all the *meanies* would like this... : First, I go where ever I want.  Suggestions noted but, unnecessary. Second your experience has been good - great the site served it's purpose.  But,  I saw a board where someone asked for advice and the group was very nasty to people who didn't think like them.  It was something right out of Mean Girls.  I think people don't value opinions unless they are enough like there own at times. But, that gives you no right to call someone "stupid" or any of the other derogatory comments.  And when it comes to acting that childishly -- the thread should be closed.  It is not censorship.  In good company, you should be adult enough to just DROP IT. And for the sake of it agree to disagree.  But, the Knot doesn't value that instead people get into endless battles about what - ribbons? As for people acting the way they act.  I just read about a fight over something posted on Twitter.  The people didn't know one another, they had a common link and it just escalated to people brawling.  Seems stupid, insane or whatever the other comments were.  But, it happens. No, it won't be often but, isn't something happening ONCE bad enough? People are both oversensitive and very INSENSITIVE.  I read a post where a woman actually wished another poster became POOR and another said she hoped her marriage wouldn't work.  Um...WTH?  And then I've gotten the sense of ladies going home and crying because of one little thing. <font color="#ff00ff">And to another poster -- yes ANYONE can sue FOR ANYTHING.  If you can spill coffee on yourself and win millions of dollars from a restaurant -- face it anything goes.  All it takes is a good lawyer to finesse it.

Um no thats patently false.  You can probably whine and get a scum lawyer to suck you dry and think you have a lawsuit but not you cannot go around suing willy-nilly.  There is such a thing as the law and what constitutes the requirements for a tort.....no duty no breach.
