Good morning!

I'm off today, so I'm going shopping and then cleaning the apartment.

N hates his job, too, which is understandable.  He's nervous about the job hunt, though. He's such an amazing worker, I hope he finds something quickly so he can actually enjoy working.

I'm not up to much today, other than wandering around montreal and then going to see franz ferdinand, florence and the machine and mgmt. No biggie :P lastnight we went to walk to the store and ended up walking into a protest, there are a lot going on here lately, and we just sat down on a stone bench with a bunch of people and watched it go by. I'm having a freaking blast here.

I know I mentioned a while ago I had an interview for a PreK position. It was so weird. They would give us 10 uniforms (10 shirts, 10 pants) and every other Tuesday we'd have to bring them in for someone to wash. They would give us 10 "new" ones and we'd repeat again in 2 weeks.

How weird is that?? I ended up not taking the job because the pay was shhit and didn't make day care worth it. But not trusting me to do my own laundry? Come on. 

Plus, I don't want to wear someone else's pants

That's really weird, Hike.  So you ended up getting an offer even though you're pregnant? Or was that another job?

I'm gearing up for a busy weekend of errands.  I had typed this all out on the phone on the bus and then it got eaten. So, I'm trying again.  We've got to go to the library, to the rec center to renew our membership, grocery shopping, oil change for both cars, haircut for H, windshield place so they can fix a chip and affix the rearview mirror correctly, and go pick hops.  It's crazy.  At least we got the laundry done (I put the last load in the dryer before I left the house) so that's off the list.

I saw Lochte swimming in the warmdown pool and I swear that his warmdown crawl is faster than my fastest crawl.

Oooh Nebb have fun. I love Florence and the Machine. Dave Chappelle came to MSP for an impromptu show last night, and I really wanted to go, but H didn't seem that enthused so I didn't buy tickets. I wonder if it was good.

This weekend, I am dragging H to a big art fair in town, and finally seeing the Dark Knight. and other than that- a bunch of relaxing!

Yes you have it right with freestyle now.

In high school swimming (at least in MI) there wasn't a 400 IM and me and my coaches really wanted me to swim it so I swam the "500 freestyle" event as an IM and just did 5 laps of each stroke. I'm sure heads were turning in the crowd but it's legal, most people just don't know it because everyone usually swims front crawl.

H and I are going to the Childish Gambino concert tonight aka Donald Glover (Community). He's a pretty awesome rapper and I'm excited because I haven't been to a concert in almost a year. Also I get REAL GREEK FOOD FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I cannot wait! This concert was originally scheduled for March and I have been dreaming about this food for that long.

I'm so ready for the weekend. I've slept like crap this week, and I'm really looking forward to being able to get some extra sleep this weekend.

We have a b-day party for two nieces. Other than that, I think we're going to work around the house and go do our registry.

Yup, I got the job even though I am pregnant. 

I wouldn't get paid maternity leave, which I figured. So with the low salery, day care costs, and losing those maternity days, it didn't make sense. 

The day after I didn't accept the job we found out H will be gone for a back to back deployment sometime next year so working full time, having a newborn, 2 dogs, and H gone for over 6 months freaked me the eff out. 

I did just put in an application for a part time/as needed program assistant at the child development center on base. That would be kick ass because I could take Drew with me to work for free and it's only part time so I wouldn't be so overwhelmed being alone.

Fische went to the toronto concert yesterday I believe, but flo is also playing in montreal tonight. The students have been protesting tuition hikes for months now, and they just announced a provincial election on tues or wednesday so the protests have started up again. The gov is trying to jack tuition by something like 100 percent. In quebec or something and no one is standing for it.

I wouldn't want to wear someone else's uniform either. That's weird.

When I worked at the zoo they tried to get me to wear the uniform brown pants, but they were all too big. Finally the uniform lady made me get dressed in the smallest guys size and my boss said I looked like a washed-up Cuban refugee. Thanks, boss. But on the plus side, I got to wear my own pants.

We went to a really nice restaurant in old montreal lastnight and ordered beef wellington, and they were cooked perfectly. We had never had them before and they were amazing! Of course, we made hells kitchen jokes about it.

Nebb that concert sounds effing awesome. I really like MGMT's new stuff. I mean I liked the old stuff too but some of the stuff of Congratulations is spectaular, like Siberian Breaks.

I had mentioned last weekend that we were flying my sister's boyfriend in from New Jersey and surprising her for her birthday. We is a relative word because my other sister did most of the work, including contacting her boss and getting her off of work today w/o her knowing.  So he got in last night and the surprise was a great success!

Here's a pic, sorry it's from a phone in a bar so quality isn't excellent.



We put bows on him and he gave her flowers. She cried so of course I cried. She was in the worst mood ever that night beforehand so that kinda just made it better.

Huh.  I always thought 'freestyle' = front crawl. 

omg.  My daughter has a guy friend (not a BF) who has been arrested for murder.  First Degree MURDER.  I'm in shock - this guy has been at our house dozens of times over the past 1-2 years.  Whatthehell.

Anyway, happy Friday!  We're going to hit the backyard renovation hard this weekend.  I'm so sick of 3/4 of the yard looking like crap.

I still can't believe Gabby won for the women in gymnastics.  I was cheering for Aly because she is a MA native.  At the same time it was nice to see someone besides Aly and Jordyn win.  They had SO much media coverage over these games that it was nice to see another person be able to shine through that.

Oh, and good morning and I feel like schit.  This week needs to be over.  I came into work an hour late because my "sinusy" feeling yesterday blew up into a terrible sinus headache.  Now I'm in a sinus med coma and I have no intention of staying at work past 3:30.  My shower is on Sunday so everyone is all "ZOMG vitamin C!!!"  I don't think that's going to work for inflamed sinuses.  I'm grumpy and need to pull it together to do a bunch of wedding stuff tonight that we've been putting off and starting to get emails about.  Oops.
